I have a customer that called me yesterday and some black looking mold on the staircases of the apartment he oversees. I have attached a picture below. I tried a 60/40 roof mix with a hard bush and it cleaned the stairs but the black area was still there. Do you have any advice on the chemical I should use. Thanks for the help

I'm no expert on treating mould on timber, but I would test a small section with a stronger bleach mix with a paintbrush. Then nuetralize it with vinegar and water.
I'd imagine you would want to keep it damp and not let the bleach section dry out.
Sorry I can't be of more help!

Look up blue stain . Pretty sure that's what it is .It getting pretty common on new pt lumber or on what I've seen in the last couple of years.

Vinegar doesn't neutralize bleach .

Could the boards have a sealer preventing the mix to penetrate?

It's not worth the effort trying to sand it out .. Causing other issues and not knowing the depth of stain. Bleach and using an acid will lighten it up but not get rid of it . I have tried stronger acids ( one restore / f9 ) and every other thing that could be thought of to remove.

Builders have to select boards better . It's visible !
