36 or 28 inch surface cleaner.

I just got approved to do a whole community sidewalks and walkway. I was thinking of purchasing a 36 or a 28 inch surface cleaner, I'm looking for some feedback. I have a 13hp 4000psi 4gmp washer. Any thoughts?

4 gpm you are going to have a hard time with a 20 inch, I would not go for the big guys unless you up your gpm a whole bunch. You go for a big surface cleaner you will just reduce your speed to the point you will get less done then if you had a smaller unit.

Most guys don't go up the bigger surface cleaners until at least 8 gpm if not more.

My 4gpm hardly moves a 19" bar to really be efficient. Find a used 4gpm and plumb them together and you'll be rocking with a bigger sc.Also if 1 machine goes down you'll still be able to finish and not piss them off.

I have another machine I do not use. How would I put two together?

Cant have a trapped pressure unloader. Might have to install a new one. Tell him what you've got.

A small one

True we got new guy coming on full blast i can clean any mold with cold water just let me have access to the good stuff i turn heat on in winter for trucks an early spring for real moldy houses.

haha didn't mean to ruffle any feathers fellas. I have done my do-diligence and have researched this industry for the past year. I have ran side by side comparisons of using my SC with steam and cold water. Which resulted in a clear visual difference for me. Not to mention the time I save on a job site. As I can can clean concrete much quicker with steam, which creates a larger profit margin per job for time worked. Of course the best way to clean mold off houses is with low pressure, cold water, and good chemies. I was only talking about using steam to deep clean concrete with SC.

That is correct - for YOUR surface cleaner and YOUR processes, YOU may not be able to get good results without using hot water.
Yes, you are going to ruffle feathers when you post that you have just started in the business on one thread, but you are also quick to tell people how to do things on the next thread.
There are plenty of people out here who turn here looking for help, and also lots of people who are more than willing to help.
A blanket statement that you MUST have hot water to clean cement is going to get people like myself cranked up....wash on brotha!

We are sending von der brown rottweiler to investigate an do a survey on heat no heat wait thats been done 20 years ago.
