In the world of delicated glass and coating whats a guy to do about getting tough spots off? Sap, shot gun, paint ect. Lots of tempered glass and lazy painters making a mess in Florida. Any and all tips welcome please.

Education and a good waiver are important. The one positive in that mess is that the Glass Association of North America (GANA) recently adjusted one of their bulletins. In essence they agree that more aggressive cleaning methods are needed when glass isn't covered thru all stages of construction. This would also apply for remodeling.

One thing you have to decide is: do you want to know that scratches have occurred after you have used a scraper on tempered glass? If you have a good waiver signed it will not be on you. Some would rather not scrape and risk seeing scratches no matter what. It's your take on things, really. There is the option of using alternative methods to a proper scraper, but they are almost always more labor intensive, time consuming, and costly as far as materials. You can also give the owner the option of allowing you to do the best you reasonably can without spending an eternity. Every option has its pros and cons.
The unfortunate thing is that as long as you are doing your due diligence it is always someone else's fault that you and the building owner have to deal with this; whether the glass manufacturers who should be doing cleaner tempering, the clowns who left junk on the glass and walked away, or the contractor who should have made sure this didn't happen on site.

Can someone share a waiver? Does bronze wool scratch tempered glass? The only time we run into seems to be the front door (and windows next to them) on resi ccu jobs. Usually there is some wood stain that bled onto the edges.

This is not mine. I have some of mine printed up but have rarely used them. But this individual is very knowledgeable in the field of scratched glass.

We are steel wool only on tempered. And I've seen new glass bad enough that steel wool was a problem.
Bad glass is one of the reasons we don't do construction cleans anymore.

Any chems and rag or sponge recommendations worth using to loosen paint and shot gun fungus? Is 0000 steel wool the finest available? I haven't yet tried bronze wool yet, any fans? I've been using Dragon Juice in my solution with Joy and ammonia it been great. Seems the dj adds just that extra little wet time keeping the suds tight needed in direct sun. Also theres more hang time on tall glass. So on say a large set of 10ft tall sliding doors I can mop 2 doors pole the 2 tops and hand squeegee the bottoms. That extra hang time allows me time to detail the tops with less dripping. Roof snot may even be a option when having to hit top frames. Roof Snot for window cleaning, say what.

I go through steel wool as fast as I go through post it notes. It's cheap and doesn't get a chance to rust before I toss it. Wool of any type can compress and lose some of it's effectiveness so new wool is always better. So I spend maybe a dollar every week or two on steel wool.
Yess they make finer wool but you don't want to buy it, it's specialty stuff and very expensive. Always check the glass after steel wool also, I have seen tempered so bad that steel wool picked up the fabrication debris and scratched the glass.
