New guy with a question

chimneysweep

New member
First off, great site. Tons of information, I'm going blind reading and searching. Anyhow, I am an established business owner who specializes in all aspects of chimneys. Cleaning, repairing, relining, etc. I've been pressure washing and water proofing chimneys for years with a home owner style pressure washer. I'm not in the pressure washer business and never tend to go that route. I'm booked solid with my line of work and have built a network of real estate agents that keep me busy. However, I've recently been doing some work for an investor who has many properties and has asked me to clean some roofs for him. A lot have general rust stains from galvanized chimney caps that have stained the chimney and shingles. I have no issues cleaning the chimney but have always walked away from the roof cleaning side of it. Simply because I'm not setup for it.
I have 2014 Chevy Silverados with enclosed utility beds. Is there a small DC low pressure system that would fit my current vehicle that anyone can recommend? I don't want to get into a trailer setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure why you would need a Electric Pressure Washer if you are only going to remove rust stains....get some of the FR Barc from http://www.front9restoration.com and mix 2:1-3:1 and then rinse with a garden hose....no pressure needed.

But if you want an electric I am sure Russ Johnson at South Side Equipment can hook you up....888.243.6506

Are you saying apply solution with a back pack sprayer or hand sprayer? This guy has like 25 properties hes wanting done. I was figuring a tank full of solution in the truck with a hose reel would be a better option. Again, Im totally new to this so maybe I'm going about it the wrong way.

Well you could use a pump sprayer, I never recommend back sprayers with chemicals in them....or Russ could set you up with a nice little electric pump that would be awfully convenient.

I'd suggest you call Bill Wilson @ Power Wash Store contact info below. He's knowledgeable and won't take you to the cleaners trying to sell you stuff you don't need. Pricing isn't bad either. I'd tell him who sent you but it won't get you a discount, though it might get me a thanks from Bill, which would be enough for me. Best of Luck!

hey whats going on, i just had a call back from a customer with faded/chalky siding. i used a pump sprayer to put my bleach on and my mix was a little too hot and left zoro marks in the siding. now you can see dark lines from where i sprayed with the bleach aganinst the white chalky siding. i was planning on using a scrub brush with simple green to get this off. im not aware of any other options. help?!?!

Well I never knocked Russ or his business. I simply mentioned someone I've done business with. Sorry you had a bad experience in life, maybe you should see a professional and talk about it to let the healing begin. Here's a link http://www.drphil.com/be-on-the-show/ that fits your drama inducing personality.

BTW if you don't want your buttons pushed try not putting them out there with a huge sign that says push me, push me!

As to the rest of the members, if I inadvertently crossed a line or stepped on someones manhood I apologize. Was not my intention to disrespect anyone.

Thanks,
