Cracked TS2021

Hi all,
I recently bought a General TS 2021 to replace a tired 2021 that has a couple thousand hours. I was going to rebuild the tired one in my free time (cause we all have so much of that haha...)
I exclusively use this pump on all of my machines for ease of use and interchangeability, some machines have one, some have two.
I swapped this new pump out as normal, bolted it up, backed off my k10 unloader, primed it, and started it up and creeped up the pressure to ~3200 with my #6 nozzle. I have a gauge on all of my machines as well as a 4000psi pop off valve.
I ran this machine for about 10-15 hours before it developed a hairline crack at the manifold right around the high pressure discharge port spraying water everywhere. i swapped it for another and contacted the supplier i bought it from. They are refusing to cover it under generals warrentee claiming that it is due to over pressurization. I have installed at least 7-8 of these but have never had this issue.

Does this sound legit? I obviously will not say what company if this is a true issue. Thanks guys

Sure everbody wants to sell equipment an make money but they dont want to stand behind the product.Heck at least yours is a pump mine is a whole washer that will not heat as per specs. The powerwash store told me some bs an washed there hands of it.I think if you call general an explain your situation they will help you.I hope they do sounds like you have supported there pump line pretty well good luck with it.

I will try general tomorrow.
Has anyone else ever seen a failure like this? Regardless, I am very disappointed in this companies response, I first emailed them asking how to start the warrantee process, then called the following day and talked to a very nice lady about how the process worked and was told that she would send me warrantee information via email. The only response i received was "our tech says that is due to over pressurization"- Thats it. I politely told them how I installed the pump, how many of them I have had, and that this was not possible. They have not responded since.

I will try to contact them again tomorrow. If I cannot get anything figured out then I will be sure to inform everyone here of whom NOT to buy from!
If anyone else has any more input Id love to hear it. :joyful:

It's not up to them to decide how it happened. Without seeing it or knowing what happened, that is not a good response.

Nick that was a attempt to get you to go away i feel sure when you explain what happened you will have a new pump.It was just bad from the factory everything isnt perfect and they know it.

We have run General pumps for years and have never had this issue. Take it back.

Okay guys I have been Slammed with work and have not had time to pursue this until now.

I forgot to mention in my first post that i sent them pictures of the crack and my only response was:

"Hello Nick,I spoke with my tech he said that a hairline crack in the manifold is do to over pressurization."

I responded today informing them that I would be posting all about my experience with there company on multiple forums this weekend. We will see if that gets me a different response! Wish me luck!
