Good looking truck Ron the only thing I see wrong with it is it hasn't a bow tie in the grill plus its black.Black is ok with other people but not me,,black is hard to clean and keep clean but your truck looks good, like the rims.

Hmmm, Bigboy, you missed something, it isn't one of Ron's rigs, although he is a ford man, it is a competitors rig. :D :D :D From what I can tell the guy must be one heck of a fleet washer. The nerve to have a black truck and trailer, all polished and shiny like that. :D :D :D He must be a real fleet washing stud. And a ford power stroke to boot. I think that I would call that guy to wash my truck. Anyone that keep a black truck clean when wahsing trucks has to be pretty amazing. Why I would bet that he looks like the guy to the left. No wonder he is drooling.

I agree with Bigboy on that color, black and/or white are the last two colors I would want on any vehicle.

What I notice missing is there is no company name, no phone number etc.

How would a possible future customer know whom to call?

Scott doesn't it get a mite hot inside that truck with all that hot AZ sun beating down on it?

haha,I didn't catch the head line,,,,,is that waterso'fer tanks by the burner or is it speacil so'fers you can run from supply tank into pump and it keep up with a 5 or 6 gal. rig?

I will try to get some pictures of the competitors rigs around here, there is three or 4 I'd like you to see, they're not took every good care of.

yel man black sucks on the big rigs also, had a over the road driver tell me Sunday he was getting a new truck, guess what color, all polished out.I told him it was nice doing bussiness with him in the past but I had rather him get someone else b/c I have enuff black ones as it is.The black truck with the strips I posted here while back,I washed it Sunday and it looked clean,by the time I got the trailer done the truck had dried and it looked as though I half ass washed it.When I wash black I overlap alittle with my spray to keep from missing spots but it looked as though I could have done a better job washing it in the dark.I can usually wash black without bushing but sometimes they want clean worth a dang and some blacks are worse then others,I have a few I just brush twice a year tho.I tell all the ones that own black I don't like washing it b/c if it looks clean and I drive off when wet it may dry and look as tho I didn't even try and I'm not brushing it everytime.I even tell them most people that own black rigs don't wash them enough to keep them clean which means every week to me.I don't have the same problem with the black trailers they clean up without brushing, hmmmmmmm its been awhile sinces I even brushed any trailer

Yep, those are DI tanks. The water here is about 800 grains. That means it is about ten times harder than the hardest water east of the Mississippi, or anywhere that uses ground water, VS. well water. TO keep the pump from starving I run a 1.5" line from the tank to just before the machine than a 3/4 " hose about 3 inches long. Haven't had a water starvation problem with it yet.

I know how those black trucks are. I used to do a fleet of them until Fleetwash got a national contract to do all of the vehicles in the nationwide fleet. I don't get it, they charge them more, don't recover water and do a worse job, but the terminal manager does not have the will or the authority to kick them out and put me back in. The black trailers are a pain to keep clean as well. Oh well, life goes on. That is why I like DI water, that and when I do a fleet of cars. I don't like car lots, but give me a fleet of 200 small cars and I am as happy as a clam.

The reason that I got black, is a really important one. A guy was getting a divorce and wanted to unload the truck. So I ended up getting it about $4000 below low blue book, with 10,000 miles on it. If I could have found another truck for the same price, I would have bought it instead.

The DI tanks, does the water enter at the top,,does the pump pull it out of the supply tank up to the top of the DI tank and back down to the pump? I don't use hardwater but use city water,is the DI better then city water?

I know a few guys that work for fleetwash in Tn. and they are ok truck washers but they where raised washing trucks if you know what I mean, they know how to clean. But like your area some of the workers cann't clean worth a crap but are able to hold onto accounts that we'd get kicked out of if we couldn't do a better job.If you'll notice their web page its all in the wording as to how they do it and as you stated they don't do it if you get my meaning.Maybe you need to take pictures as in the way they wash and send it to the main office with pictures the way you do it with your price, like I said its in the wording,,they're paying a higher price for something they may not be getting and the terminal manager doesn't know what or what was in the bid as in the way they supposed to be doing it.Heck Scott you have the city to back you, makem spend some of the higher money they are making to reclaim the run off as they say they do.

I have the DI tanks setup to flow into the holding tank, so the water in the tanks is all deionized. I have thought about getting a 12 volt pump that pumps 8 gallons a minute at 60 PSI, but I am worried about the charging system on the machine being able to keep up. I have a 20 amp system onthat machine, but I am worried about the burner being able to fire and running the pump at the same time.
As for the DI water being better, Absolutely. I can wash a black truck with no streaks anywhere, and no water spotting with the DI water. I cannot even wash a white car with no spotting with NON DI water.

The problem with this fleetwash account is that they are right on the border of two cities. The small city is too small to worry about the discharge, and the big city is just happy that they are across the street doing it. It is insane.

So I just hang out and do my thing and try to figure out how to hit them where they are not paying attention. One of the challenges is that the guy they bought out here and that is running the show was the largest fleetwashing contractor in the Phoenix area. He is quite full of himself, but he does know how to sell and follow up. I think that when they bought him out he had 10 trucks, and on those ten trucks you would be lucky to find two guys that spoke English, between the ten of them.

I guess it works for him.

Scott,
I do fleet washing in the northern front range of Colorado and I have been fighting a problem with spotting, mainly on windows. My trailer is set-up so all of my rinse water runs thru a water softener before entering the holding tank. Would these DI tanks help? What do DI tanks do?

Thanks, Pat

YEs, DI tanks will help. They remove the minerals in the water, Actually the neutralize the charge so that minerals don't stick. It also makes your soap more effective. IT is pricey. You will need to talk to a local supplier to find out your cost per gallon. It all depends on your local water hardness.
