Roof Washing in Houston, Tx

So I was planing to hold off on going into the Roof cleaning part of the industry intell i hit the "1 year in business mark" but recently I have had a number of clients ask about this service. So i'm really just trying to get a grasp on the profitability of this service in the Houston area. I have reviewed older post and watched several you tube videos on procedures and the application for this service, and that appears to be easy enough. I want to make sure before I buy that its worth is and i don't just buy a $1600 unit and only do 2 or 3 roofs a year. I have looked at a few dedicated chem pump systems. Here are the links to the 3 that I am looking at, any one of these have a small foot print and can be mounted to the back of my trailer.

1) What is a good price to charge for roof cleaning per sq ft ( dose price change per shingle, tile, ect)?
2) How many Roof cleaning job do you do on average per month?
3) How long dose a job take on the average say for a 2500 sq ft home with 2 people?

We see you're back. The best answer that most of us will have is, You need to do testing to see how long it takes you to clean a "set" sq ft area and then figure how much you need to make per hour. Everyone is different and every area is different.

As for how many roofs we do per month???? You can do as many as you land and are capable of doing....

As for how long it takes for the average job, There is no average job!!! Every job is different. Different pitch, different substrate, different size, Varying degrees of contaminants, etc....

I charge anywhere between $75.00 to $1,200.00 per roof.

I can do anywhere from 1 single home a month to a complete condo complex with 25 in two days.

A 2500 sq.foot roof can take between 1 hour to 5 hours.

Yea had a busy summer...had a kid and starting this business in the same month. Guess I really wanted a challenge this year. Good points and feedback, I really appreciate the info. Yea I have looked into the option of building my own, but buying a fully assembled compact unit looks to be a better option for me.

I was just looking for ball park figures on the time and cost for roof cleaning to see what my profit margins could look like. That looks to be good, as i could have the unit paid for with in 2 jobs then be in the green.

I still may hold off on this service tell next year. I already expanded into fence staining, concrete coatings, and expansion joint replacement and did not anticipate to do that this year. Yea I do not advertise for roof washing and have had only 3 leads for the service with in the last 4 months. I'm going to do some more research on the market for this service in the Houston area, before i make a decision to jump in.
