Hello everybody. I have been struggling with the best method and or chemicals to get up the stubborn and sometimes very old chewing gum . I have a opportunity to clean a square block in Midtown Manhattan. Getting awarded this job could be huge for my business.
Any and all information is extremely appreciated!

I use hot water and a 20deg tip. It takes forever and still leaves a oil stain behind.

I have heard of guys applying a house wash mix to lighten the stains. Routine maintenance and sunlight will eventually blend everything in and they will disappear.

On a side note, the gum doesn't actually cause the stain itself. It's the acid in your mouth when you go to spit the gum that creates the actual stain.

Wow. I had no idea about the acid.

Thanks Vince!

Hammer and chisel... we have used a scraper before for large quantities of gum.
