Sta-Rite High Pressure Booster Pump

I have a few options, I could get the regular electric 12v pump set up (used it for 2 years), or the air compressor set up, or the sta-rite booster pump set up.

I was going with the sta-rite then I learned that these pumps can get hot and so you can't run it for long periods of time. I know there's a remote system which I think I'd get for that reason.

So 12v systems get the job done and are cheaper, used it for 2 years, works fine. The air compressor is def. a great way to go, you can run it all day long with no problem, has great flow and great distance and more durable than the 12v. The only thing I can see the sta-rite pump has that the air compressor set up doesn't is that the sta-rite pump allows you to rinse with it as well as apply chemcial. I like that part. However, i've learned that the sta-rite pump can run hot if used for longer than 10min at a time. I aint got time for that...

So My question is for those who have used this system, does it run hot when you use it for long periods of time? For example, if you had 4 houses and a roof to do that day, can you run it all day like that? And what's the life on those things??

Here's the deal, I'm getting a skid with a pressure washer with down-streaming, and need a low pressure system to go with it, so I'm trying to get the best low pressure system that I can. Let me here some opinions.

They can run about 2-4 min in bypass mode without over heating if you have the bypass kit installed. Its just like a pressure washer if you let it run too long without pulling the trigger you will build heat from the friction caused by compressing the water.

Michael Derose do you have any video of the booster pump cleaning? I'm looking at this for many reasons also. Thinking it may also be great for feeding a pure water ro membrane also.

Does the booster pump make any sense without a proportioner ? Alll it needs now is a chemical on off remote. If he gets the remote going with the ability to also switch to the garden hose feed its gameover.

I sure will. Does the 5.5 gpm work ok on the 100g water tank? My biggest concern is going with an 8gpm and the 100g water tank not being sufficient, especially on bigger jobs.

The SB Booster Pumps are the most durable booster pump available. Pressure washerify floating impeller design minimizes thrust loads allowing for continuous operation without damage to motor bearings, mechanical seal or pump hydraulic components.
