Soft Wasing with a High Pressure system? yes -no

Sure can. Use the correct tips and you will be fine.

Yes you can I do it every day. I use a chemical injector to inject my cleaner into my lines and the correct tips for applying cleaner at low pressure and the correct tip to rinse at low pressure.

Same here, I do it all the time. For soap application, you will need tips approximately 6 to 10 times larger than the gpm of your machine. You can use the same tips for rinsing. If you want a little more pressure for rinsing yet you don't want full pressure you will need a selection of tips in the 1512, 1513 or 2512, 2513 range which will reduce your pressure by approximately 2/3rds.

One note, J-Rod and high draw injector!!! If you can't get enough chemical on the surface, you can also force feed the injector...

That IS really good to know. I have a 3500psi 8gpm hot machine ordered and I thought I would need a separate softwash setup to run along side it.
I'm a newbie at chemical injecting ( as we have always applied SH with pump up sprayers and scrubbed with soft brushes in the past).
Will high pressure injecting result in replacing pumps every so often?

Downstream injecting is after the pump. JMO, I wouldn't run the mix through the heating coil either...

That answer will be based on personal preference. I would say that most of us, that being about 80% or more use downstream injectors for most of our washing. Some use the xjet and some use dedicated sprayers like 12 volt or air compressor diaphragm pumps or 115 volt booster pumps.

With the system you will be getting I would call Russ at Southside Equipment and order a couple of the General Hi Draw injectors with rebuild kits for acid service (ceramic ball, o-ring and spring that will hold up better when used with bleach) or order the acid injectors that would already have the parts in them but get the rebuild kits so you have them and not shut down and have to order when the parts wear out.

I would order the Jrod nozzle holder for your nozzles so you have 4 nozzles there in one place. I would say probably a 40 or 50 orifice for downstreaming but the spray fan patterns is personal preference. I like to use the 1540 for spraying close with a tiny bit of pressure to move dirt and 0050 for spraying up high but some guys like the 2540 or 4040 as the fan is wider and you can cover more area faster.

The nozzles are not much so get some and see what you like. I also like to rinse with the same nozzles so I have to go take the hose out of the container of SH so a lot of walking back and forth to the trailer on the job. I put the hose into a bucket of water so it is rinsing out the injector while I am rinsing the house but some people like to use high pressure nozzles to rinse, all personal preference.

You might order some of various size nozzles and a couple of the jrod holders so you can have different assortments of nozzles based on what you like and what you clean.

Hope this helps.

Great advice! Thanks a lot.
One of my concerns with down streaming is that I'm told it will only work well with up to 150' of high pressure hose. I'm afraid that won't be enough length to reach the back side of large houses/buildings when the ground is soft and I can only park so close in the driveway.

Forget about a modified backpack sprayer! You don't want to have something on your back which is attached by hose to more hose which is on the ground.

I agree with 150' of hose not being enough for some homes. I run 225' of hose with no chem draw problems.

Whomever told you 150' of hose is about the limit for downstreaming simply don't know what they are doing!!!

A lot of us here are running 200'+ of hose with no problems.

Soft Washing has been done for years with use of a downstream injector to apply your mix and then followed by a soft gentle rinse. You will need a dedicated pump though in order to clean a roof. Your mix can not get strong enough for cleaning a roof using a down streaming injector.

For the time you need a stronger mix than your 150 foot hose can deliver, just add a 50 foot hose and move your downstream injector to between the 150 and the 50 foot hose. We downstream with 200 foot of hose at all times, with our 5gpm and 8gpm machines and never have a problem with mix to weak, so you might consider that.

I run 200' hose daily and sometimes add additional 30' if needed....never had a problem. I did follow the service of some people in thus forum for dow sizing my inhector. My downstream is on a 4gpm machine and its running a 2-3 injector, It seems to work alot better. As for roofs....like Doug said, need a dedicated pump for stronger mix.
