Too many overflows! I installed a Hudson valve, works great but i'm getting a sense that my tanks are taking longer to fill. My imagination or do these valves restrict some water flow?

I've always used one so I wouldn't know the difference. I do know that since I went to a 1 inch supply hose it seems to allow my tank to fill faster! Even a couple of my guys noticed the same thing!

I think they do restrict the flow a little, but I use them
We use 1.5 on the hydrant and 3/4 on supply hose. I might increase up to 1 inch. with an 8 gpm & 5.5 running we can run the tank dry fast.
I like the reel set-up on the back of your trailer. Is that something you fabricated yourself? I could use more room and considering something similar.

Chances are you have a good filter before the pump, so I would get rid of the one on the valve. Also we just switched to the Abertax valve and loving it. I have yet come close to running out with 7gpm on 70 gallon tank.

Those valves will flow over 20 gallons per minute. I have always used them and I have never noticed a slowing of the flow except when the filter inside starts to get clogged.
I have 3 of them on my tank and they do a great job.

I use an IBC tank for my water supply and use 2 Hudsons on a 3/4 "T". I can run 8 gpm and my tank stays full to the top.
I use two. they do restrict flow. When I need a second feed reel, I unhook one and hook it up. Just feel your hose, it is always solid which means there is back pressure because of the restriction.
Thanks! Those are 18" cox reels on the stackable kit they make.We use 1.5 on the hydrant and 3/4 on supply hose. I might increase up to 1 inch. with an 8 gpm & 5.5 running we can run the tank dry fast.
