Tough time getting battery acid stain out.

Customer said that he thinks this staining was from a golf cart battery. Probably from years ago, and he has never had the carport cleaned. I cleaned the carport with EBC and a cold water surface cleaner, then tried using F9 on the orange stains. First tried with half and half mix, and saw no change... switched to full strength, sprayed it on a small area to test, and still saw no change. Did two or three light applications also.

Any ideas on what else could be done, or are old stains just too much? Let me know if you cant view the pictures.

Hey Jason I've not had much luck with battery acid stains, Most of my customers I tell them to clean the area up well and put down a good epoxy based garage paint... muriatic acid will etch the heck outta that smooth concrete, The only other option I've been running through my head would be having someone come out with a concrete finisher to try to grind and smooth down the top layer. The only thing I'm not sure of would be if the stain goes deep or if it's just surface discoloration

Hi Jason,

Treating sulfuric acid stains is a restoration and there is a process that must be followed. It is always a double application process with F9 BARC (go straight with product) and you must watch the videos I posted below before proceeding. I have personally done over 7,000 battery restoration jobs and our F9 Team has done much more than this. If you need help, shoot me a text to 760-774-5306.

Quick notes:
Sulfuric acid MUST be neutralized and surface cleaned... as outlined in video #2. Also, I have some other tricks that can help you.

1. http://www.front9restoration.com/f9-training-the-difference-between-white-and-orange-battery-stains/

2. http://www.front9restoration.com/f9...e-battery-stains-on-a-gray-concrete-driveway/

Once you get the procedure down, you will be setting yourself up for a high profit, marketable niche cleaning service.

try some HF but use safety

Yes because you can Die, Dave we been doing it long enough we have lost friends. I realize some of your mentors have guided you to use raw Chems. But caustics an corrosive materials in raw form can be dangerous.

I don't want the phone call someone's died.

try some HF but use safety

High concentrations 2-10% (most wheel cleaners and many rust removers..NOT F9) will cause HF burn if it gets into contact with skin. Not something I would recommend, promote or play with. Please stop pushing this when there is a much safer alternative.

Hydrofluoric Acid Burn Pics

Let's not forget HF tends to penetrate the skin quickly and get right into the bloodstream stripping the calcium. In long enough exposures this can lead to severe blood pressure drops and cardiac arrest. Not something to play around with when there are safer alternatives.
Oh, and the old chestnut of, I've used it for years with no issues, is a poor reason to endanger someone else's life.
