OxiClean Question

Good morning,

I have a very newb question that I hope someone can answer for me.

I'm very new to exterior cleaning and in the process of learning the industry by going through a lot of trial and error at a bunch of family members houses/properties. I'm now at the point that I would like to start learning how to clean fences/decks. I've done a decent amount of research about wood restoration, and I've come to the conclusion that I would like to start out with OxiClean. That being said, I've been looking for 1-2 weeks(probably not the right spots), on what kind of OxiClean that I should use. I went to Walmart and saw like 3 or 4 different kinds. I saw a laundry detergent looking bottle, a dish soap looking bottle, and a tub that contained powdered OxiClean. Unfortunately, I do not remember exactly what each one of these bottles said that they were, but I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction, or tell me their formula/type of OxiClean that you use.

Thanks in advance,
Ian

The ingredient you are looking for is sodium percarbonate and oxiclean is generally around 50% in the powder form. I wouldn't use any liquid form because it is best when freshly mixed with hot water. You can also find it in a purer form online up to 90% or so I believe and it isn't terribly expensive. Do not mix any soap with it because it will sud up like crazy.

Hope that helps!

Did anybody ever wash a deck with OxyClean before? I am curious how it works and how long does it take to work on the surface.
Thanks

I used a pump sprayer to apply oxyclean to a rug I was cleaning a few months back and the biggest issue I had was that it wouldn't fully dissolve like the guy in the video mentioned and it constantly clogged the nozzle. Might be something to keep in mind if you don't have a dedicated sprayer.
