    SH Predicament

Okay, Iíve been getting more and more calls for roof cleaning in my area. I donít advertise roofs but Iíve done a few light one by down streaming chemical with only a ball valve, no pressure washing the roof.

In fixing to order the soft soft wash kit from Pressure Tek, advertise, and hit this hard. Iíve done all my research and know that a strong SH of 12.5% with the right amount of surfactant is the best route to go.

My problem is, no one in my area really sells bulk SH. They sell 55 gallon drums at around 150 bucks per drum but I can only get one at a time due to DOT law and no CDL. So, with the research Iíve done, 55 gallons would last for two roofs averaging 2000 square feet if Iím mixing at a 50/50 ratio in a 55 gallon match mixed tank, but sometimes would drop down to a 40/60 or whatever is needed for that roof if itís a lighter one.

What do you recommend? Just keep driving over there and picking up 55 at a time? They canít ship because itís an 18 wheeler and he said they wonít bring those in neighborhoods. I have a good opportunity to make some money here but the chemical is holding me back. I plan on keeping 3/5 five gallon Paulís of 13.5% loose on the trailer to if needed for spot spraying tough spots or if I run out and need it in a pinch.

    Suggestions?

Last time I checked you can get two barrels without a cdl/hazmat endorsement (1000# limit if I remember right). Are you sure you can only get one?

50/50 is a little strong for a shingle roof, for tile thats good. We always use a 30% for single, but sometimes we start out at 40% if its a really dirty roof. Have you checked with local suppliers that deliver to apartments and hotels?

That one company was all I found that had it in my area, 55 gallon drums. I was thinking that would only do a couple roofs by my calculations.
