Need some help
Hey guys, I’ve been asked to wash a aluminum fence that’s painted white in addition to washing the house. This will be my first fence that’s aluminum. Could someone help me with the correct detergent to use. Is it safe to use my house wash mix? I also have to dragon juice and ebc in my trailer. Thank you in advance.
I attached a picture of the fence.

I forgot to mention that I’m just cleaning light green mold off of the fence.

House wash mix will clean that right up.

Thanks for the response. I was worried that HW mix would kill the grass under the fence. Any thoughts on that?

Vinyl fence is easy to clean using a downstream injector and your mix shouldn't be hot enough to affect the grass. I would however be sure to preset the grass, keep it wet, and rinse fence/grass really good when done. Green algae is the easiest to remove. Music easier than the black mold. Once you get going and spray you'll look back after a couple minutes and the green stufff will have disappeared.

Thanks Doug,I did a test on a section of fence when I washed the house last Saturday. I used my house wash mix which was 5 gallons 12.5 and 3 1/2 gallons of water and elemonator. DS through 200 feet of hose. That mix seems to work well for me. Doesn’t melt the mold away but it works in 7 - 10 minutes, and only have to reapply on the really heavy mold.
This house is on well water, customer asked if I’d clean the house, concrete (pool) and fence on separate days which I’m doing. I just have the fence left which I will do this weekend.
I did the concrete today and looked at the section of fence I did when I did the house. It looked great, no harm to grass or aluminum.
I’m thinking I might use 10 percent bleach instead of the 12.5 just to be safe though.
Thanks again for the response. It’s really appreciated.

The fence came out great! Simple house wash mix was all I used. Soaked the grass before during and after. Only took an hour and a half. Customer was very happy. Thanks again!

That's so true. Just downstreaming on algae is the safest as the concentration isn't strong enough to damage plants but it works a treat on the algae. Whatever we do we always wet the grass / plants down to avoid any problems.
