tandem machines

Has anyone run two machines in tandem? Specifically two 16 hp machines 3000@4.8. What were the results?

You can run two in tandum. The results would be 3000 psi @ 9.6 gpm.

What steps would be needed? Run a T into one pressure hose? Does anyone have a setup like this and did/do like it?

i have not

but i do know you need a high pressure check valve[or 2].
Also you need pressure line that can stand up to the pressure. Also to get max volume you need to increase the diam. of the pressure hose.
There might be something you need to do to the unloaders also.
Im sure the WIZ will help out on this one.

Graytruck91 ran a pair of machines that way. He has a psot in the distributors section that has his e-mail address. Nice guy his name is Dan. Boy, there are a lot of Dan's in this industry.
Also Delco has a kit for $90 to hook two machines together.

We have coupled two machines together on several occasions. We always do it with our Twister Surface Cleaner.

We just run it into a "T" and out one feed line. Both machines have to be pressure actuated unloaders and of similar GPM. We were running two 5.5 gpm/3000 psi hot skids.

Both unloaders must be Lock-up or Pressure activated. The kind with a big spring. They already have built-in check valves. All you do is couple them with a Tee and change the tip size accordingly.

Use my nozzle chart.

I run tandem machines when I am running my big surface cleaner. There are hazards, but if you have trapped pressure unloaders, you should not have any problems.

I run tandem machines. Two 4 GPM machines, cold water mainly for rinsing. I like the set up because I can run 4GPM or 8 GPM depending on what I'm doing. Never had any problems with this configuration.
