    X-jet M5 problem

I have a 4000 psi/4gpm pump. I am running it at 3200 psi and it checks out accurate at 4 gpm. When using the X-jet M5, turned all the way to straight stream, it will shoot 35' high in a good stream for about 1 second when I pull the trigger, but then reverts to a fan spray that will only reach about 25'. I let go of trigger and pull again and it will go straight stream for another second and then fan. I have the correct orifice for my machine (according to their chart). Any ideas what is causing this?

Are you pulling water from a tank ....... or house supply feed?..... Sounds like the pump is starved for water
