I have a friend in poor health that has a dodge truck for sale...

Dodge diesel truck, 3/4 ton truck, 165,000 miles, 5-speed, cummins turbo asking 5500, 5.9 liter, this is a 90 year in great shape...

Phone given when needed...

165,000 is nothing , if the oil has been changed regular. I'am happy with my dodge 1 ton 6 speed diesel 2002 , Ia'm wonting a 2003 , they have 305 hp and more tork.

Pulling a p/w trailer , ford , dodge or chevy diesel get the stick!

Mel I am lazy so I always get the auto trans.

Even my Dodge was auto and never had any problems towing trailer or 5th wheel.

So far good luck with Ford too.

B&M makes a shift improver for auto trans vehicles. I installed one in my 94 Chevy diesel. Good crisp shifts, holds a gear when it needs to. I love it. It just wires in to the computer. No more dropping the pan and removing the valve body. Done that before, too. What a pain. BTW, howdo I get a picture to load next to my name?

Mel I here that those 03's are a big let down. I got a buddy that bought one and he said he'd rather have his 2000 back.

Jon , you dont have to tell me your Lazy . lol..................just kidding.

I like the manual for 2 reasons . better fuel mileage and better braking power , your trailer should have brakes and your truck , of corse but when you realy need it , you can drop it down a gear for that extra stopping power.

Ok the auto transmmision are good on fuel these days.

Mattia,

I think that is a fair price for what the guy is asking. They are a good truck and in 1990 they were very good. These diesel engines will run a long time but lack in the pulling power. Don't get me wrong, the truck will pull. However the Ford is a little more of a pulling truck.

If you have $5500 and he is selling and you feel it's in good shape then I would say go for it. Take a moment to have the front end looked at before you buy. Find out if he has changed the steering/gear box or had any new front end parts. Ball joints and wheel bearings mainly. Look at the front tires and check for unusual wear. Other then those few things, I think it would be a great truck for you.

Good luck and post a pic when you get it!

I never wanted a diesel, and never ever thought I'd own one, but one of the companies I work for was selling a 90 Ford One Ton 7.3 with 130,000 miles on it for $1600. I drove it around for an afternoon and couldn't believe how smooth and perfect it was for that price so I bought it lol.

I was given a maintenance history of the vehicle when I gave them my check and found out that a new transmission had been put into it at 120,000. What luck.

After driving this thing for a month now I'm a believer!!
