What is the difference?

Ron,
Good board, but I must say what is the difference between this board and Dan Flynn's? It is the same program. It looks exactly the same other then yours is purple. Yea you do have a few more catagories, but that seems to be the end of the difference and I am sure they can make them on the other board too. The same good people are here as on the other board. And basicly the same questions. I have seen the same questions posted on both boards. So whats the difference? I think you and Dan should get together and create one board that blows everyone away and will lead the industry, instead of haveing two boards that are exactly the same. Yes variety is the spice of life, but I do not see much variety here. That is just my view point. I don't want to get anyone mad. It was something on my mind and had to get it off my chest. And I will still come around once and awhile to see whats new. :(

There are many differences, sure some questions are the same and the BBS many times have the same posts. That’s because the boards have mutual members.


I will list the differences not the negatives.

1. This board allows free advertising from anyone in the industry.
2. You can post any link that you want on this bb related to pressure washing.
3. There is a links sections that has many more links than most BBS and we have only been online less than two months. ( what will that be in two years)
4. the moderators vote themselves about the calls on this bb( they represent the community not myself)
5. this bb is solely supported by a pressure washer not a manufacturer or retailer
6. We give out prizes.
7. Faster response to questions because I able to spend more time on the bb than other administrators.
8. the board is being advertised and promoted
9. This bb has people that have never posted on other BBS posting because they feel comfortable.
10. We are in the works to have banner sponsor donate prizes to the members of this bb.
11. The bb has more moderators so questions and differences can be answer better and quicker.
12. I feel our moderators do have more experience and I also have newbies to add spice to the bb.
13. Voice chat scheduled.


Are you ready for the biggest difference, post that same response on another bb and it would be deleted & you might be gone?

I take your post as someone with and opinion and that’s all, I don’t take anything here personal. This is not my bb it’s the whole community. Theirs another differences, you’re talking to all the people hear that come for information and share thoughts and ideas. O yeah I have moderators hear and they work very hard trying to build the community and have done a great job.

Let’s not make this posts a who’s bb is better and who's isn’t, its just my opinion that this one is #1. I ‘m sure others will disagree. I sure others will agree. You asked a question I felt obligated to answer.

I think all BBS on the web are great and the more competition there is the better it will get. I know I will improve as we go and maybe try some different things.


Know you made a comment about the boards look the same, you might have insulted Dan Flynn. He has been working on the looks of his BB and has done a great job. I hope to modify our BB in the future. It’s a lot of work to get the look Dan has. My board is the generic version of this software. Not to mentions his bb does some things mine wont & will never do.

Dominic I think you needs to look a little closer and read between the lines. Just my opinions don’t take offense.

Bottom line is this community is owned by the community, not myself. (Wow that’s a big Difference)

Dominic if you have any changes that you want, request and who know's you might get it.

I thank you for your responce. And I thank you for not taking offence to it. I respect that a lot in a person who can take critisim.It was not ment to try to figure out which board is the best. That was never even on my mind when I wrote that post.I just did not see the differences and wanted to know the difference. I thank you for pointing out the diffrences I guess I did just have to look a little deeper. I can see that the biggest diffrence would be that this is a community owned site not just a single person. But must say I never felt like it was a one man show on the other board either. I can see the good of there being everal diffrent boards. I thank you once a agian for pointing out the difference in the board.

You are fast. I don't think I even wrote that five minutes ago and bam!! I got an e-mail saying thta you responded. I could get use to haveing my questions answed fast like that.
 
One other major difference

The one difference I like most about this BB is that it sends you an e-mail to let you know someone has responded immediately you do not have to keep checking when you check your e-mail its there and for many with websites like myself you check your e-mail often for messages from potential clients even though you may not have to scan through the BB's. Sorry for the long post.
