Logo Opinions

Well, I have FINALLY gotten around to finishing my logo, and want any opinions, suggestions, or criticisms that you folks can come up with.

Now, Beth did most of the work on this, so she deserves the credit. I have made a couple changes to it, but that is due to the fact that I wasn't entirely sure what I was looking for at the time I had Beth do the logo.

I'm not 100% happy with the water spray part of the logo, but can't seem to come up with a better looking spray graphic. Any suggestions?

Please don't hold back, even if it is negative. This thing is going on business cards, fliers, website, etc., and I want it to be as good as it can be.

Thanks!

As I said on www.pwnabbs.org ................try stopping the spray right where it makes contact with the Florida state image. I think that might look better.

I'd consider shortening the lance a bit and bringing the florida logo closer to the words.........I don't like all that space in there.

My two cents.

I'm not sure if I like the look of the Powerwashing gun. If you take away the wand it looks like your pointing a Hand gund wth an extended barrel towards the state of Florida. I would change that slightly as in a different looking Powerwashing gun.

Also how about that spray hitting the edge of florida and going around it somewhat like its cleaning the whole state and would also blend in with the water line that surrounds the state. That way it doesn't look like its cutting Florida in half.

All in all though it still looks pretty good as it is.

John,

It looks less like a hand gun then the one in your logo.........

Alan,

That looks pretty cool except its so tall it would be difficult to include in advertising, such as newspaper or directory ads........it would suck up alot of column space.

Mike,
I do not know if I would really put it out in advertising or not, but it could be resized a little. I did it more for the fun of playing with Paint shop pro, but who knows, I may use it.

Actually, the gun we first came up with looked much more like a gun. The one I'm using now is one I made using a trigger gun in an espec catalog as a guide.

I think that with the water shooting out of the end, the length of the wand, and the fact that the words "pressure washing" are over the wand, people won't get the impression it is a real gun trying to shoot Florida. :)

Here's the first one we tried. It looked too much like a tommygun or something.

Please do not take this wrong - Just an opinion. I think that your logo is too plain. Heres an idea - Make the water look more natural. Maybe have the water appear to mist around the state of Florida or have the water coming out of the gun in the shape of florida. You could drop the gun and have the state of florida with a star place on the state-where you perform your services & have the state symbol slightly tilted back with a pressure washer man (kind of similar to Ron Musgraves man in his logo) standing by the star - Can you picture what I'm describing?

or change all togethor

Have the state of Florida as your main focus - circle the name of your business around the top and some catch slogan around the bottom - Put a Pressure Washing Man in the middle of the state.

Oneness

The purpose of a logo is help the customer become familar with your company by a picture - not really words. You want to post the logo on everything you do - Your logo is a symbol of your business.

Oneness

I design logos on the side - not for money. In my area, I get calls a lot from small business owners for assistance all the time. I use to do consulting work in the area of advertising, marketing, etc.

I'll be glad to help you in anyway possible.

One more thing - your phone number and wand should be different colors - When looking at a logo - the picture should get the customers attention and direct it toward the wording.

If you change your logo - be sure to post it.

I like your title - it builds ownership to the customers in that area and can foster customer loyalty. You need to play into that. A slogan would be a great way to do so.

"Serving North Florida Cleaning Needs Since 1995"

"We don't cut corners, We clean them"

"North Florida Number 1 Cleaning Contractor"

"QUALITY" is the key to Our Success"

Here's the same thing with the spray move a bit so it points more to North Florida and doesn't extend over the state. The color for the phone # has been changed to match the spray color. I'm not happy with the spray pattern graphic yet, but it will give you a general idea of what it would look like.

thanks for all the comments and critiques! Keep 'em coming!

Mike

I like the new look - much better. Your color scheme is much better.

Maybe you may try having the water spray behind the state of FL - all the way to the left edge of your logo. I would work on the graphics of the water - make it look more like water.

Look at the water in my logo.

How about a slogan?

Let me know if you need one of the earlier ones I sent that had the water drop and wand over north florida.

Hi Mike, I like the design of your logo except for the water. I made a little change.

Tommy

That looks good. Can you extend the water out to the left edge of the logo - one behind the state and the other in front of the state.

I would be interested in what the two would look like.

I appreciate your time. You do good work.

Hi Tim, I posted to you at the CleanerNetwork: http://www.thecleanernetwork.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=989 I am going to be taking a couple of my sites down and your image is being stored on one of them.

I added the water spray and that's as far I can go with it. I don't have the images to work with to do as you requested.

Hi Mike, I don't know anything about Fireworks.

Have your image open and add a new layer.
Make your spray, then in your "Layers" drop down list you should have a option for the amount of trans.,choose about 50%(more or less, see how it looks)
When you're satisfied, merge all layers.
