removing Olympia Stain

Any suggestions? Is this a togher-than-usual stain to remove?

I stripped using the recommended mixture of HD80. That did a "fair" job. I have to restrip tomorrow.

From the photos you sent it looked like a solid, film type finish. How long did you let the product dwell?

There are a plathora of products out there.

Have you increased your dwell times with the HD-80? Some stains / sealers take longer than others. Some take several hours to 24 hours to remove.

Is the Olympia a urethane based product?
If it is, you may have to go with a solvent based product like MEK, Dad's or Bix Tuff-Job. (Make sure you wear a respirator with these products.)

I would also suggest going ffrom 6 to 8 oz. weight per 1 gallon of water on the HD-80. You were not at full strength. You were at like 75% strength.

Beth, I think you may be right. In hindsight, I relaized I was supposed to be at 8 oz. (weight). The 6 oz. did such a GREAT job on the Penofin decks in the same condo complex, I forgot that I wasn't using it at full strength.

Based on these photos, do you think it should be stripped again with the light red swirl marks in place or will the RS light brown cover that right up?

RS doesnt cover anything up.......any imperfections that are there now will be there after you're done.......they will just be a different color.
