spots on door

After finishing a house wash, I noticed white spots (resembling water spots) on door and white haze in some places. It was a front door I believed to be stained and coated with polyurethane. The stained wood framing for two windows next to the door on each side were not effected. The weird thing is I only sprayed the door and surrounding area with water. I did use a sodium hydroxide based cleaner for the gutters above. Rinsed everything. Also didn't notice if they were there before washing.

Question: Has anybody had experience with something like this?

the sodium hyd cleaner removes a thin layer of oxidied paint from the gutter's. It get's held in water droplet's and re-stick's as it dries.
You can add a rinse aid to your rinse water to help the water sheet not bead.

They may have used the wrong kind of paint. It is a good idea to test painted or stained doors before washing. I have gotten bit on that before. Improper paint causes oxidation and water alone can stain it.

Thanks for the replies. I will add a rinse aid. I went back and there were no spots on door. I think owner used a polish on the door and removed them. I don't know what she used. I didn't bring it up when a went back to stain her carport.
