I would be interested in attending. There are a few others in my area as well as the Tampa/St. Pete area that might be interested as well.

Great.

I will arrange for a meeting facility as we get closer to a count on attendance. If we charge $10 per person, I think we can get a decent meeting place with a light buffet and drinks.

Rick, If you can start organizing 2-3 main topics that people would be interested in hearing about, we can put together an agenda. I would suggest a 1/2 hour introduction period with a 2 hour educational session.

Main topics might focus on:
- Different types of cleaning: Flatwork, Roofs, Wood, etc.
- Advertising: I can have one of our ad reps attend to dicuss different ways to advertise cost effectively.
- Equipment: I have a local pressure washing supplier that would be interested in participating to talk about new equipment, chemicals, and techniques.

We also need to hear from people as to the day of the week that works best for them and what time of day.

Great, here are some thoughts;
I will post threads on this on the other BBS to drum up interest and try and get a head count. What will be the tentative date?
Should we have a free-for-all discussion format or set topics, or a speaker or speakers? Or a combo of all three?
What would any of you reading this like as possible discussion topics if you where at the meeting? A few suggestions I have are, marketing/sales, how to beat the low-balers or closing techniques, equipment, chemicals and techniques to work smarter or time utilization and environmental.
Any suggestions from anyone who has held or attended one of these roundtable meetings please chime in…what worked what didn’t? Likes dislikes etc etc.

That’s it for now. Thanks, Rick G

Florida meetings

I would be happy to assist and or attend a meeting in late Oct. Let me know when and where, Jim.

I happen to own a Disc Jockey company also...so if you need sound reinforcement, I may be able to help.

ARC, Still intrested in hosting? If not let us know and we can work on setting this up. I think its important for us in florida to have this meeting. Ill drive up north if I have to. Rick G

Rick:
We'll be happy to host it.

I have spoken with a couple of other people about coming in to talk about new equipment and marketing ideas and they are very interested in participating as well.

Ok John lets start this ball rolling, 1. Date, I am open so its up to you. 2. Location, I assume we will meet in Palm City or somewhere near there like Port St Lucie? Place, I suggest a sports bar type. Time, Lunch? I have a felling if you choose they will come. Lets nail this down in the next week if we can. I will mass post it on all the boards. This is open to anyone for suggestions on date, place etc. Lets just get it done. Rick G www.claytonsbest@aol.com

Rick:

I'm not into the Sports Bar idea - I would prefer a hotel conference room where we could have some education and discussion without a lot of distraction. I think a meeting starting on a Saturday at 3:00 might work well.

I will call for reservations and pricing for 12/06, but I'll need at least 20 commitments before I put down a deposit on a room.

Possible Location: Port St. Lucie

Here's my suggested format:
Total meeting time - 2.5 hours
The first 1/2 hour is for cocktails and a light buffet while people are checking in.
The next 2 hours are for education: We'll have 2 sessions. A speaker will be on for approximately 40 minutes (each session), Q&A for 10, and break for 10.

Suggested topics: Marketing, New Equipment, New Services.

Everything will be industry-specific and presented by professionals in that given field - marketing, property mgt, equipment dealers, etc. I will book the speakers, but I would like some feedback as to what people want to hear about.

Cost per Person: $10.00 paid in advance or $25 at the door
