I noticed there has not been a post here since July. So, I am putting one in.

How is business going at this late part of the season? I am just about finished for the season. Already the weather has turned cold and we have had a frost already. Now it's time to get the paperwork in order for good ole mr IRS. This year was better than last and I hope this trend continues.

Would really like someone to invent a stripper that KILLS mildew and mold spores. Most strippers will remove it, but don't kill it like bleach (nasty word I know) does.

Hey Reed,
I got a few deck jobs still to do. Tonight it's going to get down into the 30's so the cold is on it's way. This year started out good but then the rain came and did not stop. I was not sure If I was going to meet my goal for this year. I had a big month for Sept. with a lot of power washing work and some late comers for deck work. I just went over my books and it looks like I will get the number I was looking for.
I hope you still get some nice weather so you can get some riding time in! Talk to you later. :)
 
With the weather we are having the calls have come to almost a screeching halt. So now I am putting the paper work in order.

Went for a ride yesterday in fact. Was in the lower sixties by noon. This morning was 35 degrees. I don't want the cold weather to get here. I now have over 1000 miles on the new ride and the valves and rings are seated nicely.

There is a big ride on the 12th here, Bikers For Babies. It's the annual ride for the March of Dimes and we raise around a 1/2 million dollars for the charity. You couldn't imagine what 2 thousand plus bikes, riding staggered 2x2 over 40 miles long looks like. Very impressive and we have police escort to make it safe on the highways. I will try to post a pick next week of the parking lot and hopefully from the road ride.

Finally starting to get some deck calls here..........been out doing some estimates. Haven't done many decks this summer..........mostly house washing and gutter cleaning.

It is really quite a site and experience. Doing the annual Rat Ride this sunday and will put up some pics of the crazy's doing burn outs and wheelies for ya.

I have 3 decks to get stained after that its just house washing up through November. After that Im usually done. Weather here almost killed my deck business but house washing was unusally strong due to all the rain and mildew. I did better than last year so Its a good year for me. Here it is Oct. 3 and Im booked solid until Oct 20 with a week off before cleaning a large cedar house. They don't want it stained unbelieveable I know but what are you gonna do. They like the gray look just not the green. Told them itll be natural for around 6 months or so before it gets gray again. The like that don't even want a clear or natural tone for protection. They are artists in their upper 70's who knows what goes through peoples minds lol.
 
Hey Mike,
Maybe if you took over a sample of wood with a few differant colors on it and showed them how there house could look, they might think about it. Some people just dont get it. You could tell them you could stain the house with a gray stain to give them the look thay want.

Don't think I haven't thought about going south for that reason.
I would love to work all year round and not sweat the winter months with no money coming in.
 
Just dropping in fellas to say hello to everyone. I appologize for not keeping in better contact with all of you but I've been on a mission.

I came to crossroads is life and had to make some serious decisions that meant changes... Changes as you all know are the hardest thing ever. I've also been extremely busy.

Business is going much better as I make my climb. Sold 2 sets of hose reels this week and I think I sold that trailer. Have a few other sales going on in the local market. People also want me to wash houses and are willing to pay real well, so I've been doing a little of that also. Last but not least I've been spending more time with my family and I'm enjoying that.

So everyone knows, I am the only Mi-T-M distributor from Canton to Cleveland and these are my territories. Mi-T-M is a very strong company with a clear set of goals and ethics. The company is based out of the small town of Dubuque, Iowa. Their Machines are fantastic and their warrantees are superb. They pay their distrutors a flat rate fee at the distributors normal hourly rate. They back their equipment and I can honestly say they have my approval. Design, quality, paint, products, personnel..... second to none.

Anyway that's just an update. I worked on Chuck's machine today.. (of C&T Mobile wash). Just been busy.

Also... I've lost 2 cell phones in the last 2 months. So any of your numbers that I had, I just stored in my cell phone. After all, it has this neat little card in the back called a, "Sim Card". You can take it out and transfer all your data to another phone. Nifty as hell. LOL. Well when you lose the whole phone prior to removing the card... well we don't need Paul Harvey to tell us the rest of the story on that one.

Oh, what do you all think about Rush and his comments on ESP Sports. Forced resignation... Kinda ducked out early in my opinion. I expected a little more perserverence from Rush. Of course if he is doing all the drugs, who knows what the guy is thinking.

Opinions on Rush...

Is he a racist? I don't think so....his comment wasn't a racist comment, and very well could be true. He didn't say the guy wasn't a good quarterback, and he didn't say he was good or bad because he was black...he said the media was treating him differently because he is black. That's certainly not surprising...treating folks differently based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual persuasion, etc, is nothing new in the media or society in general.

As far as the drug thing...did he do it? I hope not. If he did, am I concerned? Certianly not...If he's guilty, it means he made a bad choice, and it may negatively impact his ratings, but little else. I certainly doesn't make his opinions wrong (or right) and it doesn't make him any less a political commentator or entertainer.

As far as Arnold goes, I still want to know what qualifies him to run a state? As far as having a womanizer/sexual predator in an elected office, we set the precedent with our last President. No one seemed to care much then, why should they now? We'll see how it all plays out tomorrow.

Oh, BTW, winter is over...it was hot and humid this morning...in the mid 80s this afternoon, and is only 79 degrees right now at 8:00pm. :(

If we have a winter like last year, though, I might just have to winterize my equipment for a weekend or so..... :p

Hi Paul

Its been awhile since I've been on. I've had a lot of computer problems, I loaded Win/XP into my computer and nothing would work on it Grrrrrr, but I think its all sorted out now.

How did your mate from Brisbane enjoy his visit with you? Good I hope.:)

yes he had a great time.was here for ten weeks had about 5 weeks in europe(italy,switzerland,france,spain and i forgot the last one..when he got back he found out they was making him redundant...he works for the phone company and is on nearly full pension, he reckons there is plenty of work subcontracting to them so he is happy that he will be able to choose when he works and when he does'nt.....he reckons p\w is to much like work so your safe there :).
