Does anyone know what the solid content is in the most popular sealers? Mainly Ready Seal.I know Super deck is very high in solids and comes in many colors.Just wondering if anyone researched this?

Solids In Sealers

John,

This is an age old question that I was never sure how to answer
properly when it came to semi-transparent stains. They are not
a paint so should not be compared in the same way.

A few years ago I came across an article on wood sealers and it
contained the best answer I have seen. It said that the solid
content of a wood sealer is that part of the product that does
not evaporate.

Based on this Ready Seal has a solid content of around 87%

Hope this helps

Solid content is important but not the only importance. It's also important how the solids are carried and where they end up. Another brand I know of advertises high solid content. The problem is most of it lays on top of the wood which ends up wearing of in no time.
