No Fax Machine?? No Problem!

Check out www.efax.com Your faxes get downloaded right into your email........only print the ones you want.......or simply keep it saved on the computer.

I also have mine set up to email my cell phone whenever I get a fax........so I know one is waiting for me.

I don't really see the need for this service, as the majority of faxes seem to be junk these days. Most of my customers and vendors are up to speed with e-mail.
Mike, How do you find efax productive or how are you using it to get your monies worth?

Grant,

I find many legitimate uses for a fax..........for instance, when filling out a credit application for a vendor, or anything else you can think of.

I like the way it alerts my cell phone (via email text message) when I get a fax. Especially when you are expecting one, and are not in the office)

Also, with the advent of wireless internet access, this system will allow you to receive and send faxes on the go............in your truck........on a park bench, whatever.

I initially got the service so that a second business could have its own fax line......without hard wiring a new line. I like the service so much, I rarely give out my landline fax number now.

I don't disagree that a fax machine is useful on a daily basis, I do not see the value in a monthly charge for the services they offer. I suppose if you do not have an office with staff and you are trying to run the business from your truck as you described it could be helpful, but how important can a new fax message be that you need to be called or paged as soon as it arrives?

Well, its not really that important. The other day it was helpful because I gave the number to someone, not sure if I gave them the right number. I was reassured when I got the email confirming a fax from them. Of course, thats not a usual thing.........but, it was helpful in that case. Emailing your cell phone is not something they tell you to do, I just did that on my own.

I'm not sure, but I think it is free for incoming faxes......and you only get charged for outgoing faxes. I didn't remember thinking it was unreasonable, considering you don't have to pay for a dedicated phone line......

Mike are you still using this efax, I dont have a fax and wanted to go this route for not willing to pay for a land line...

I have to go to Kinko's for fax and I never get there... To tell you how much I dont go there, I have a 1400.00 bid that needs to be faxed and have not gone yet, I better make a point to get there today, Myself the Dumba$$ for not doing it...

Matt

Fax machines are only 100 bucks...or get a multi function printer print, scan, fax for less then 2 bills. plug them into your main phone line and use it when needed.

Grant the problem with the land line is I do not have one... I gave up and went strictly cell phone... The 25.00 a month for another line plus long distance would it justifiy the land line... Plus I only send out maybe 5 faxes a month.

Ron, Where would I look for the fax on my windows, for this computer wizard that I am:confused:  :(

Matt

Okay guys I know this post is old but I wanted to comment on it anyway. I have e-fax and competlely hate it
1.) I get tons of spam
2.) Its 12.95 per month
3.) If you have a hand written fax you have to scan it into your computer and save it so you can"fax" it. So if you dont have a scanner you are screwed. Or you will have to type everything in a word doc.

Here was my solution:
I went to office depot - bought a fax machine $59. (it copies too) all you have to do is plug your home phone line into the machine, then run another line from the machine back to your phone. Now days fax machines can distinguish a call from a fax - so it will route it itself. This way you dont have to pay for an extra phone line and you dont have to mess with efax. If you need to recieve a fax just have them send it to your home ph #.

This is how I work it, and it works great I have no problems......

I do the same thing, Nicole.
