decision for the PWNA to not pursue official forums on other BBS.

I believe it would be in the best interest of the PWNA to "want" an official forum on this BBS where they can try to generate memberships. With the PWNA bbs being locked out to non members and the volume of traffic being so low for members, utilizing a free resource for the benefit of all is a plus. The biggest mistake PWNA has made with other forums is that they don't have a dedicated person that is responsible for announcements or information. All major organizations, from fire departments to ball clubs, from small townships to large cities have a single "public information officer" (PIO) or equivilent. This eliminates multiple "officials" with multiple agendas or trains of thought dispersing information that can be misconstrewed and easily taken out of context.
WRAPI has one person that is a PIO and all "official" information comes from that person. That same individual does not get involved in conversations, the PIO makes statements that are approved by their Board of Directors. The rhetoric is eliminated and and "semi official" opinions are avoided.

No official notice as of yet, only the rumor type info.

For them to make it official would require the BOD to vote. I seriously doubt thats going to happen. We have been repeadly told they have more important business.

I not sure they care about member rejoining because they claim to have bigger projects on the horizon. (however these projects they claim to have are kept underwraps until they actually complete them)

They have said something huge is coming, I'm waiting to see what it is.

I know that the educational programs will be revamped once they are outsourced.(fro improvement and that will be a plus)

We have announce the closer of the offcial forum on PWNA site. It was taken down by EA. they felt that its should be annouced by there BOD. Like the waiting that we experienced for the Moderation direction I was told not to hold my breath for the answer Grant is waiting for.

The more I think about this issue, the more I might agree with the pwna's decision to close its bbs to non members.

One of the more successful organizations I have ever been a part of is called SIMA, which stands for Snow and Ice Management Association. They are extremely successful, and while I was a member a few years ago, they're bbs was open only to members www.sima.org while an independent bbs was the strongest in the industry ( www.plowsite.com ) , much like PWI is to power washing.

While I served on the BOD for the PWNA, I contacted directors from SIMA and shared some of their ideas. Maybe its not such a bad idea.

These BBS' take a lot of time and energy to run smoothly. They are a valuable resource, but are very draining on the pwna's personnel. After having the level of experience I do with running these boards, I think it might be wise for them to back it off a bit. Why should the PWNA work hard to provide what you can already get here on PWI ?

I am no longer familiar with how they are running their bbs, since I havent been online there for a while..........but, do they have any forum in which a non member can ask questions about the organiztion and get real answers?

It appears that the PWNA board members that are moderators are resigning from this and other BBS boards other than on the PWNA site. Is this a sign of something to come?

God, I hope so!!!.... It would benifit the PWNA if they spent less time moderating the other BBS in the industry and used thier new free time working for the PWNA BBS and PWNA org..

I think it's probably for the best until if/when they get their act together. I'll go on record (once again) as saying that I don't really care what happens to the pwna one way or the other, but all dedicated and hard working contractors in the industry should have an opportunity to thrive and be successful. We all know that some will make it and some won't, but the support simply isn't there in the manner in which it should be with the current situation. No offense intended, it's just a reality and we should consider looking at other avenues of furthering the industry. Ideas anyone?
