Comet Pumps

Just curiopus if anyone has experiance with the "new" Comet pumps?

We were contacted several times in earlie spring and I kept telling Comet that we really had "no use for their pumps". Finally I let them come in to the shop to talk to us.

First off, I was very impressed with the rep that came in. I also like most of the things he showed me about their new pump. Long story short, I told him I would give them a try.

The very first one I got I put on a rental unit. They take the most abuse so I figured I would find out right away if these pumps were all he told me they were. Well so far so good. It really does seem to be a nice pump. I've got about a dozen out there running and have not had a single complaint yet.

Don't get me wrong, it's no Cat, but I think it's a good value. They are VERY competitivly priced and seem (so far) to be high quality.

Has anyone used one of their larger pumps? Like for a 13 or 18 HP gas unit? I would like to know how well the larger ones hold up.

Any thoughts appreciated!

Russ,
I have a small unit with Comet's new AXD pump on it. It doesn't have a lot of hours on it yet, but so far haven't had any problems with it. Even though it's a small pump, it does a pretty good job despite it's size.

They are good pumps right up there with AR and better than the General EZ series as far as direct drive goes.

No Problems Here!

I have been running one on my mobile detail rig for about a year now without a sinle problem(knock on wood) I believe it cost about 199.00 Inc. Shipping has an unloader and all through Northern Tool. I picked up an extra one just in case their already plumbed filled with oil and ready to go just bolt up in field no more down time. I will probably give them a try on my larger machines in the future if I have any problems but not in the very near future I am currently running Cat pumps on both my large PW's:)
