Gwinnett County GA Stormwater approval.

On Wednesday I had my test at the Gwinnett County Stormwater dept.
With my Environmental Clean and Recovery rig I was recovering the water before it got to the drain but I still had to go and get a drain cover (magnetic / water pillow or sticky cover) and a sand sock to divert water as if I was using some collection method like a sump pump etc. I filled a 10' sand sock with water and with a couple of pvc fittings and a fawcet so I could empty the sock easily after use, and got a magnetic sign to cover the drain and was approved. My name is on the list as a company that is capable of recovering surface cleaning washwater and adhering to the regulations.
I think this is a great system that they have set up and guess what - no low ballers.
Basically nothing but rain down the drain is what they are sticking to.
Well done Gwinnett County - here is the link.

Pattersons Pressure Washing got tested today as well (12-12-07)from Gwinnett County Stormwater dept.
They came to a location here in Conyers and we demonstrated our system to them.
We had a drain cover the only thing we did not have was a water sock which they said we would need before they would sign us off.
So as soon as they left I called Tracy at Sunbrite, told him to ship one to me and he suggusted to fax Qwinnett the invoice for proof of purchase and by the time they got back to office they had everything they needed to give me the go ahead.
So thanks Tracy...some of you guys who have not used Sunbrite...I recommend Pete and Tracy, they are good guys and sometimes make us look smarter than what we really are!!
So now we should be on the list by the end of the week!!

Al how often are they inpspecting and testing that equipment. What steps are you taking not to polute someone elses property and be held liable?

I read the quidelines, pretty good work. I guess i assumed people wouldnt be smart enough to dump to storm sewers that go to lake, rivers and streams.

WOW!!!!

Anyway, So are they stopping cart washing? What about mobile detailing. How about Deck restoration. ( oh thats no where near a storm drain)

I suppose then if you keep things away from Streams river and lakes. Wait let me get there list.

I could be wrong but that does look like asphalt they are using that vacuum surface cleaner on and it is removing the topcoat/sealcoat.

I hope they are just doing that just to take a picture for promotions and not planning on really using that for asphalt. On older asphalt it will destroy the asphalt.
