I got my F13 tried it out on my own gutters cleaned them up nicely, So i went with the same mix and brush to a job i had to clean this guys gutters.. very heavily streaked i get started its working so i noticed a spot and touched it up, i then realize its taking off the paint, so if the gutters have ever been painted can we get the streaks off without taking off the paint? I gotta go touch up paint them now. anyone ever had something like this happen? I'll take some pictures and post them later.

I've been using F-13 all of this year and have not had any problems. How much did you dilute it before applying it?

like 10-1 .. using a pump up sprayer n the brush, i used it sameway on my gutters w/ great results and then use it on his the same way and get this. I have another job coming up with gutters that were painted a few years ago to cover the streaks, now they got more. i don't want to have a repeat.

I have not been using f13 that long though it is my understanding that the way it works is it etches off the top layer of paint on the gutters to make them clean. So if my understanding is correct then it worked properly.

thanks for the info/replies.. heres some of the pictures one is before n after where i didn't remove to much paint.. the other is where most of the paint was removed and i had to touch it up. the guy was happy when i was finshed.

it looks to me in the pic where you had to paint, that the paint was already gone before you got there. Are you talking about the underside of the corner?? Because what I see in the before pic doesn't have paint on it anymore. It was just that your cleaning made it even more apparent.

Yeah and after a second look you can really tell from the before that the paint was already gone. The f-13 worked and you got stuck with fixing a pre existing problem

Yes it is the underside of the corner. It did have paint but as soon as the f13 got on it, the paint was gone, That picture is kinda hard to see it, But I repainted that anyways, even though it probably was pre-existing it wasn't noticeable untill i attempted to clean it, so I had to make it right. he was happy so was I. I'm still learning with f13 ;)

i havent found anything to clean the lines off the gutter without having to scrub. someone told me to try gutter zap and i probably will next year but i dont know if you have to scrub with that also.

Well if that is the case then i would say whenever you see anything like that in the future it is very safe to assume that the f-13 will take the rest of the paint off. When I see area's such as that I bring them to my customers attention when I bid the job so they know what to expect for the outcome.

i try to do that with all area of the house pointing out what may not come out whats broke, etc.

Learning experience. :)

That is only the second time i've used f13. the first day is the day i got it on my own gutters. I'll know better now, maybe it'll help someone else out also. Thanks for the replies

well now i know not to even bother trying it.

yeah stuff like this is exactly how we learn to make ourselves better. I know that is how I was when I first started.
The main problem with the gutter streaks that I have seen is that they make a electrostatic bond with the gutters, which actually puts the stain in the paint. And the only way I have seen to remove them is to use a detergent that will etch the top surface of the paint off to remove the streaks.
I have not personally used simple green and I am not sure what it is made of. But I am pretty sure that gutter zap does the same thing as f-13 does.

ya, someone told me to try spray nine. they said it works. what i need to find is a good degreaser.

I use a brush on the gutters but it is fairly soft. I have x-jetted F-13 to higher level gutters I couldn't brush. It does make a difference but to get gutters really clean my experience has been you have to brush.

so i guess its fair to say no matter what you use the gutters will still have to be scrubbed.
