Hi Everyone,

Ive been a member on here almost a year and have never posted anything, but I have read and learned ALOT!! Im a full time fireman and do this on my days off. I figured its time to finally introduce myself! Thanks again!

Welcome Dustin

Ive been scouring the internet (and mostly PWI) for any and ALL information I can about starting a PW business. After several months of research, and ALOT of late nights staying up and reading, I think im ready to pull the trigger, pick up a rig, and begin a rewarding venture into pressure washing. My name is Paul and I live in the WGV (World Golf Village) of St. Augustine, FL. Ive been a full time Firefighter/Paramedic for a nearby locality for about 3 yrs and am wishing to supplement my income with my pressure washing business. Im really eager and excited to dive into it and hopefully meet some really good people and, who knows, maybe one day make some really good money!! Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Its good to meet everybody

My name is Eric and I am not in the business yet, but the more I learn the more I am intrigued. It started when I borrowed my dads power washer to clean my patio and some stains off my driveway. A little light went on in my head that not many people have a power washer, the time or interest in cleaning, and sparked the idea that this could be a business opportunity. Little did I know that it is a huge business! I started looking online at power washer equipment and quickly found the possibilities are endless, and somehow I stumbled across this website and have been a bit overwhelmed.
My main questions are: how do you write a business plan for this type of business? Is it a business that can be started as winter approaches (West Michigan)? Most importantly, is it reasonable to start on a shoe string budget?
Obviously I needed a user name and business name to be able to post here, and not having a business at this time, I used the name TOCE Tracy, my girlfriend, Olivia, our darling 7 lbs ball of terror, Cicero, my boxer, and Eric. Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Eric again, another questions is how do you get business? There are so many homes in Grand Rapids that need work, and I see many, many, many dirty roofs. Since this will be a new business, I am not expecting the phone to start ringing right away so I will have to chase the business. But many homeowners HATE people showing up at their door trying to sell something (Home improvement, cable, utility services, etc). Would I just be another nuisance if I went door-to-door offering my services?

Hi! My name is Victor Hayes, and I am the founder over at Ultimate Washer. I am excited to be on PWI. I have been looking for ways to network, connect with more people in the business, share pressure washer knowledge and experiences both ways. Ron Musgraves mentioned this site to me on Facebook and got me interested. Looks awesome and I am glad to be here!
