Welcome New Members

Hi everybody! My name is Brandon Farnsworth and I'm in the process of starting my own pressure washing company in Eugene, OR. I've been browsing this forum off and on for about a week now and I have to say I've never seen such a supportive group of people online - very impressive. I'm eager to learn and already have a question for you guys. I'm looking into general liability insurance and am hoping someone can send me in the right direction. I've already filled out a quote request online but the company wants me to fill out payroll info, annual revenue, percentage breakdown of jobs I do in a variety of categories, etc. I'm just starting and the forms are clearly made for existing and established businesses shopping for a quote. Any help is appreciated - thanks!

Hello everybody Mike Beck from Sustainable Pressure Washing in Eugene Oregon been here for 5 years before that a year and a half in San Diego CA area. Been looking for years Ron talked me into finally posting.

Hey Mike, great meeting you in San Diego and talking with you the other day...at least I think it was you. Anyway welcome to PWI.

Welcome to the board Mike.

Hello guys, my name is Ryan and I am from North AL. I have been very interested in getting into pressure washing and I think its time. I have browsed the forums for a few months and let me say that I am AMAZED at the help, professionalism, and attitude that all of you have.

Just a quick about me, I plan on starting out on driveways, researching and reading books/taking online seminars to gain knowledge before I start upselling to structure/roof work. I am very ambitious/dedicated, my favorite word is Perfect, I take pride in EVERYTHING, I love the word profit, making people happy, challenges, and learning.

I will use the search button before the questions come. Thanks!

Edit:
After searching, I did not find a for sure answer. I found answers but not a why. The NorthStars.. Sounds like you are over paying from what I see. Found a Hot water unit 2750 psi 3.0 gal still under warranty, basically new for 1200. Is it worth it? Better options? Figured I would ask rather than buy, and 3 months down the road realize I am a moron. As far as better options, the 1200 is about the most I can go right now on a unit, I would like to get one I can use on driveways but also use in other setups. Thanks

Welcome to PWI Ryan. If your going to be doing flatwork you'll need more than 3 gpm. At least a 5-6 gpm preferably an 8gpm set up is what you want.

I am glad glad I decided post. Thank you. As far as 5+ units, any recommendations on who to call or where to look? I am pretty certain I cannot afford a new one, do you have any recommendations on who to call or where to look? I know CL doesn't have any that big. What brands do I need to stay away from and look for?

I guess I am looking for one on a mild budget I see some of the nice ones you guys talk about but I have to start somewhere and I cannot start that big, does hot water matter on flatwork?

Hello!! I am Preston I manage a real estate firm out of Tulsa, OK. I was browsing through the internet wanting to learn about power washing and stumbled across your forums and you all seem like the nicest bunch of folks my side of the Mississippi! The main reason I joined is because my younger brother is in college and was wanting to earn some money between classes and on the weekends (and I think should keep him out of at least half the trouble he could get into). I would be willing to purchase all the equipment and whatever else is necessary! So I was hoping you all could guide me on a good kit to throw in the back of the truck I got him and get him started, please PM me with any help you can offer and I can provide my email and we can further it from there! One day we both hope to grow it into a honest to goodness business as I think my market is under saturated in this regard. Thank you all again and look forward to meeting you all!

Hello Everyone!

Been skulking around this forum for awhile now.. first time posting. Ya'll sure are a wealth of knowledge! Looking forward to learning much more here and getting to know some of you better. Starting a PW company here in the next few weeks and I can't tell you how much this forum has helped inform my decisions on equipment and procedure. Thanks for the information and continuing such a powerful resource to newcomers and experts alike!

So, here goes my first post. As my profile says,My name is Philip Allen and I am from Fredonia, PA. I have been working on and managing dairy farms for over 20 years and have come to the conclusion, after spending 2 weeks in Orlando with my family, that I liked vacations and it was time for a change! Living in the Marcellus shale area there are lots of job opportunities with great pay, but, after a lot of thought, I decided that wasn't the direction I wanted to take. I started searching for Ideas and stumbled onto roof cleaning and pressure washing. The more I researched the more I realized I can do this as long as I can find knowledgeable people to network with and keep me headed in the right direction. I am really looking forward to picking the brains of all the experienced business operators on the board.

Not moving to Orlando. Just vacationed there and loved it. The market is wide open where I'm at for roof cleaners and power washing professionals. Hardly any one doing it yet. I put in a signature, just isn't very much to it. I'll work on it.
Thanks for the welcome.
