Welcome New Members

Hi, my name is Andrew and I own ViperTech Mobile Pressure Wash in Houston, Texas. I am a Veteran, having served in the Texas Army National Guard. I completed a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. While in college, I did Power Washing Gigs on the side, I soon realized this was a very lucrative type business, and have been doing it the last 5 years. I enjoy the fact that hard work does pay off in this business and that the drive to get new customers is something I enjoy doing everyday. One thing about this business, is that online google searches is not as effective as many other businesses. I have also turned into an SEO Expert with all of the major search engines because of my ability to understand Search Engine Optimization. I love Power Washing and my employees do as well.

Thank for having me!

Welcome to PWI Andrew!
Houston is a gold mine for roof cleaning business, that's for sure!
If I can ever help you with any roof cleaning questions, just ask.

AS far as online Google Searches go, I think they are about the same as in any business. You simply have to identify the keywords your potential customers are using to find you, and be sure these search phrases are incorporated into your websites.

Simply being active here at PWI and other forums like this dedicated to what you do, will help you greatly, as far as SEO goes.

You will also want to check out and join the UAMCC Forum at www.uamcc.com. Remember to join as many forums dedicated to cleaning as you can, to help your SEO.

I can clearly see you understand SEO, by the way you have displayed your website link. In today's scheme of things for SEO, it is always best to display a naked website link, as you have done, vs a text link.

I've posted here before a few months back with lots of good feedback and help. Hoping and asking if it's appropriate for a non-professional (more like a semi pro) to join in conversations here? I'm an employee at a national fish hatchery. We use pressure washers hundreds of hours per year to clean off algae and a little moss from concrete, empty fish containment areas that we call raceways. The raceways measure 100 feet long X 8 feet wide X about 3 feet high, however, the main area of concern is below the normal water line, which is an average height of 1.5 feet (about 1 foot at the top end of the raceway; and 2 feet at the bottom end). Cleaning these raceways is an on-going, routine-maintenance kind of situation. We pressure wash them every time we empty them out and are preparing them for the next cycle of fish. It's not like this happens all at once for all the raceways; it's more like we might have five empty at one particular time, and then over the period of a week, we'll remove the screens, pressure wash them, reset the screens, and the put fish in them from other raceways that the fish have grown and become too dense, and therefore need thinning out.

I hope all I've described above makes sense. We can't or won't hire out this work to contractors, so the workers at our hatchery must keep this cleaning going. My motive for hoping to join in conversations here is to find ways to make this process faster, safer and easier. The faster we can pressure wash these raceways the better. Many times, due to time constraints, we'll skip this step when adding fish to an empty raceway, but that means we have to get in them with a wire brush and scrub the walls and floors to ready them for the next cycle. That is h*ll on our shoulders and totally unnecessary if we can reduce the time to pressure wash to the point where it is just as fast as scrubbing them. I'm working on a forklift-able platform. We've reduced our time from 4 hrs, down to an 1 1/2 per. I'll be asking a few technical questions and for advice as long as everyone thinks a non-pro is welcomed here.

Hello Everyone, My name is Kevin and I wanted to introduce myself. Not sure of the rules of the forum for posting so to start I will not give out to much info until I know its ok. I work for a company in the Atlanta area that sales pressure wash equipment and chemicals to contract cleaners. I have been in this industry for about 18 years. I started in the shop repairing equipment and now I am in outside sales. So if any one needs anything let me know. We are trying to get our name out there more on the web. Thanks and I am looking forward to using this forum

How's it going? I'm from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have been in business for 4 seasons. I started up with a partner for the first season. We ended up getting a lot of commercial work. Now I am solo. Starting from the ground floor again. I look forward to the days when I have a legitimate professional business. One step at a time. I have a lot to learn and realize that not anyone out there can just slap a pressure business together and be successful. Thanks for allowing me to be apart of this forum.

Hi all, Joe with Plantaton Power Wash, LLC in South Carolina... Just got my LLC registered with the State and am scouring this site for more information on the business. I did some pressure washing in the military but am just starting into the residential and commercial wash industry. This is a really great site... I learn something new every time I browse.

Thanks for having me!

Hello, my name is Ian Maynard and I am from Houma, LA. I am married and have two boys that keep me on my toes. I am a supervisor for a major oilfield service company working in the Gulf of Mexico. Well, with things getting real slow in my industry, I got tired of just sitting around the house waiting for the phone to ring. I started doing little odd and end jobs for family and friends and made a few extra dollars along the way. Well one of the jobs I was on was pressure washing a home and a business. I finished both structures in two days, and made a decent chunk of change. I had already done a little pressure washing before I started in the oilfield, so I would say that I already had more experience than the normal homeowner. Anyways, after talking with my wife, we decided to go ahead and give it a shot by opening up our little pressure washing business. Everyday I ride around my neighborhood and see lots of dirty driveways and gutters, and I know most of my neighbors really don't want to do it themselves. The first three I talked to each said "please, wash it for me, I will happily pay!" So, here I am - giving it a shot. I purchased a used semi-pro pressure washer from a relative and also purchased a new 3500 psi / 4.0 gpm Cat/Honda washer from a vendor a few hours away. I purchased a trailer and mounted them, also purchased a few accessories including hose reels, 250' of non-marking hose, two surface cleaners (small and large), and a water tank. I finished rigging up everything today, and earlier this week I registered my business, obtained licenses and liability insurance (can't have enough of that stuff) and start my first official job Saturday morning!!! Hope all goes well, and hope to learn alot from all of you in the future. Thanks!!!
