Welcome New Members

hi guys, this is my first post on here Ive been lurking on here for about 2 weeks now and decided it was time to start posting. ive had my auto detailing biz since 1979 and have done some light power washing over this time on small projects. alot of my customers have request for me to do some fleet washing and i have turned it away. then last month i saw an invoice for some truck washing and about pooped myself. so i went out and found a used hydrotec trailor on craigslist for $2,500 and will start fleet washing next week these trucks will be dirt haulers bottom/end dumps. the reason why i keep getting these request is that im the guy who gets the call when the under par power washer gets out of control with the acid and burns the paint.then they have to call me to wet sand and polish it. if any of you guys have any questons about auto, boat, truck, airplane detailing please feel free to ask. thanks.

Newbie

Hey guys
quick intro
John Peterson of Peterson Deck Restoration, Pressure washing and staining decks for the past 8 years and started own business in 2005. i am from Minneapolis area and the recent snow in April has killed the quotes and staining. We run only 1 crew and stain about 60-70 decks/year. also a teacher who does this full time in summer.

Quick intro...My name is Nate. Just starting into the buisness of pressure washing. Been doing lots of reasearch and seems to be a big market where I am and TONS of potential. I am a fulltime FF/Medic and doing this just as some side cash and maybe turn it into something bigger in the future. I was drawn by the number of ACTIVE people on here as well as the expertise I have seen displayed so far. I AM A ROOKIE at this. I invested in a John Deere 3800 / 4gpm washer. Just looking for some insight and gain knowledge in this area. I start advertising for my new buisness tommorow and already fully liscensed/insured. Just want to make sure mainly to have a good understanding when I venture into complex jobs not to give other professionals like you guys bad reps. So fill me in and I look to chatting with some of you.

Hi im gary im a hood cleaner i anouced my self on the forum but not here so i just want to say im a co-owner of a hood cleaning company located in Roseburg Oregon, we have to travel a lot to are jobs we cover the i-5 up about 2 hours and down about 2 hours, or at least thats are range.

It's jsut me and my brother we have ben running the comp for a bout a year and a half, bough it off some one else who was running it down, had a ok list of clients he lost a lot of good amounts but the crap ones stuck with the comp.
In the middle of trying to expand and pick the comp up off it's feet, made it through the first year, dam it was hard...

We take pride in are jobs and believe it or not love what we do. Hope to better the communintys around are area in the importance of KEC and the importance of maintaning the KEC.

Glad to be aboard.....

Hey guys my name is Doug Howard and I live in Central VA. I use to paint, stain and lots of pressure washing decks and siding. This year I decided to add roof cleaning and drop the painting was getting lowballed too many times. I have learned a great deal from you guys and want to thank all of you. Business has been good and I love playing in the water.

I've been reading this site now for about a week or so and I must say I feel like this is one of the more informative sites. Like nate with Hook and Ladder, I too am a full-time firefighter/medic who operates and co-owns a full-time mobile power washing company. We are always looking to improve our own business either through technique, chemicals or advertising....and I think this site is a great example for doing just that. I look forward to reading and picking up a few tricks of the trade as well as marketing ideas. It's nice to have a place where we can come and discuss things that matter to us and that we understand. Thansk for such a great site.

Greetings everyone. My name is Michael Wessel and im the international marketing manager for my company, Bianco Japan. As the name implies we are located in Japan, Kyoto to be exact. We specialize in manufacturing cleaning chemicals for non-routine cleaning, though you could use them for that purpose. For example building restoration/renovation and tough to remove dirt/stains etc.. I am the only foreign guy in my company and i've been tasked to sell our product to America. I stumbled across this forum in my wanderings across the net and thought it would be a good idea to talk to guys related to the industry where id like to market my companies product. I look forward to getting some insight from ya'll. Just as a note, im orginally from Wisconsin.

Hi from Scotland!

New TO Business

My husband and I just bought a pressure washer and are ALMOST ready to go... we have a satellite business and thought this would be a good addition to keep my husband busy during spring/summer as our satellite keeps him busy mainly during fall/winter. anyway... we of course need lots of help. Looking for any training, videos, conferences/round tables we can attend for info. Suppliers too. We will be doing business in Citrus County FL and surrounding areas.

Greetings from the "First State"

Greetings from the "First State". I started my roof cleaning business in 4/08 with my brother and son. It has been a great and busy start to what I believe is a bright future. A major "Thanks" to everyone who has provided what seems like a never ending supply of knowledge and experience. I plan on being around for years to come. Hopefully I'll be a productive member of PWI and have the opportunity to meet/communicate with many of you.

Welcome, now head on over to one of thr roof forums :)

Greetings Everyone,

I've also been bit by the pressure washing bug and purchased my first unit. 8gpm 3000 psi hot water unit with a 20 hp honda motor and Beckett burner.

The unit resides on a 5x8 trailer with 2 hose reels and a 90 gallon water tank.

I'm located in Marin County California, and will start out part time, concentrating on flat commercial work and truck washing.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated and look forward to attending Ron's Arizona RT in October 08.

Insured the company and just finishing the web page, business cards, and fliers.

Thanks for all the posts on chemicals, techniques, and distributers. This is a great forum with plenty of sound advice for the newbies.

Regards,
