what is the best way to remove streaks from windows that sometimes may be left after power washing a house?

I throw a little cascade in my mix (like a home brew I guess)

ya, but i mean if someone calls you back days later and says they see streaks on windows whats the best way for them to remove theses streaks?, are you saying to use cascade?

Best window cleaning formula I konw of is ammonia mixed with water. Spray or brush it on, squeege or wipe it off.

Are the streaks from dried chemical? Sometimes you have to buff them out. Make sure you prewet your windows and rinse them constantly. When you think they are free from soap, rinse them again. I have never had a callback for window streaking following that mantra of rinse, rinse, rinse. Its the first thing new guys are shown when in training. (windows and plants)

Also certain chemicals dry very quickly. Everything I have ever used from e-spec has been like this.

I had a complex, it was windy and my overspray wrapped around to a side that I had washed already. I went back the next day and just sprayed my same mix and all was fine after rinsing.

Ken is right, when training new guys. Rinsing windows and wetting plants & shrubs are on the top of the training list. That and how to salute and say "Your Highness" when i walk by. Long live the King!!!

Try your mix again

i always prewet plants and windows, even freshly sealed driveways. i have taught all of my workers that these three should be done before anything else.

I use a mix that I found on another forum. It is 20 ozs of Mr. Clean mixed in 4 gals of H20. Takes just a few minutes to run back around sprayin on the house and by the time you pack up ready to leave, The windows are shinin just like brand new. Have yet to have anyone complain about streaks on windows.

yes, decks are always prewet too, but if they are really badly covered with mold i dont care how much you prewet them some of the mold will come up in areas.

i spoke to customer today and he told me his wife used FANTASTIK to clean the windows. a little fantastic and the sun will do the trick:eek: wrong!

Adding window cleaning service after you wash the house would really increase your profit. Since you've washed the house, you've removed the bulk of the dirt from the window. Residential window cleaning fetchs a good 7 to 12 dollars a window here, and I wouldn't discount the cleaning after the house cleaning by much. As far as simply removing the streaks; they may be caused by hard water if they are not caused by your mix. Try using a De-ionization tank to purify the water. Use this pure water to rinse the windows and they will dry spot free on their own.

This is a great upsell technique. We include it in our Gold and Platinum pricing plans. We don't use Mr Clean but get the same results.
