Thats pocket change Russ, this is and event i go to every year. The freinds and customers that i have met here are wonderful freinds and i actually have a great time.

They raised 100,000 just at the poker event the nite before the raffle and dinner.

Outback supplys the steaks and the president of the entire company will be present and i will meet him.

300 bucks and my check book is all that required.

I even met a few guys that powerwash while i was there last year. And yes i bought tickets for anyone that wanted a shot at the SUV in my office as long as they came. Kari my office mang got third place in the poker and won 1100.00 she donated it back to the boys and girls clubs.

What ever we raise money for if we do raise money i realize we start small.

How about a nationwide carwash for teh children. How about KId for brokers.

Make the fund raising a win win for contractor and the children.

heck dude , I know but my point was that this was raised by a bunch of high school kids , oh and Longhorn Steak House did the meal , point I was making was that if a bunch of kids did that how much more could 500 of us raise ?

I know Russ. its the idea.

we could raise the money to fund anything we want if folks could get on the same page.

I guess will see what happens at the round table in JErsey.

They still have to replenish with a certain amount of fresh water at some point everyday.

What's up with the attacks on me for asking my fellow Ga. contractors to write some emails? You and your backer apparently have your facts confused about who is doing what.I suggest you guys get your facts straight before you make anymore "poor me" accusations directed at me or my company.

I'm sorry if you feel they are attacks on you.

I elaborated on my reasoning for my "vote".

What 'backer' are you referring to? My bank and myself back my business.

I'll assume your next post in response to any post I make will be "quoted" and the infamous "gasoline and bat threat".

Take a pill Scott. NOT ONCE did I say you can't pay your bills and are looking for a handout.

Hey Gary,

Appreciate you chimming in!

I tried to get on your website www.whatsonmyroof.com to see what kind of work that you do. You might want to get that fixed!!

I've been in touch with the hosting company, expiration date on the card paying the bill passed...the littlest detail can stiffle things. Ironically that is a source of 75% of my business.

Carlos, I see and appreciate your efforts you are putting forth. Scott just thinks I have a problem with him, and for the record I don't, I actually like Angela and Scott.

Its all good Gary...I actually grew up down the road from you in Somerset County!

These are interesting times in our industry and everyone has ideas and points to make. We dont have all the answers and any positive advice from you would be good.

Scott is somehow getting dragged into this. I contacted him and told him I wanted to help. He offered some perspective of what he has seen over the last 45 days in his area. I respect Scott as he has been in the industry for a long time and has always contributed to these boards.

You should give him a call ~ I am sure it would go a long way!

Good seeing you man!

Scott,

I wish you and the other Georgia cleaning contractors success in your efforts to get "permission" to continue your business practices, afterall you do create tax revenue for your State Reps to get paid. I wholeheartedly understand the stress you are going through. If there is one thing I've learned in 15 years of being self employed its this....there is only one thing you can't prepare for, that is 'the unexpected', and the faster you regroup yourself, the faster life can get back on track.

Sorry if I hurt your big teddy bear feelings.

Several counties have shut down power washing here. Paulding and Jackson are two. I have work in Paulding that I cannot perform until they lift their ban. Each county and city can put in effect greater restrictions than those imposed by the state. If we don't get some rain over the winter months you will see more counties banning power washing come spring. I'm afraid this is going to get worse before it gets better. Just becuase the state guidelines exempt power washing at level 4 does not mean washing is permitted everywhere in the state. It is not.

The other factor to consider in the state of Georgia is how many people are not calling to get there House, Store or whatever it is that needs powerwashing because of the Drought situation. That alone is alot of lost revenue.

From what I'm hearing about that state is that 6 months from now it could still be bad unless they get way above average rain fall.

Does anyone know if a contractors license is needed to powerwash in the state of Georgia?? Where I live you need to have a Contractors license to do this type work and part of the fee for the license is put aside for Contractors in need. I don't know how a contractor here would apply for some assistance from that Fund but its there if they know how to get it.
