Does anybuddy pressure wash shopping carts? How much do you charge? I am thinking about going after an account with a large grocery store in the area but i have know idea what to charge.

We use to do Albertson's Grocery stores. Store front entrances and carts. We charged .50 a cart to chemically disenfect and steam clean.

thanks for the reply. what did you use to desinfect the carts?

Chlorine and a soap mix, then a steam rinse with low pressure high volume..

shoping carts

i charge 2.50 for first time and 1.25after but my reason for charging so much is free wheel repair!!!!!!! and wheel lubrication -all stores have a few dead carts for parts so when i wash in groups of ten we seperate all carts checking for a dead or squeaky wheel and lubricate with 3in 1 oil its a great moneymaker and managers love the free wheel repair! hope this helps (dont forget the bakery bread carts too-i soak them in acid solution in a tank for 1/2 hour then i nutrilize and rinse twice checking with litmouse paper 50 buck each)

The only reason i charged .50 a cart was to get the store front cleaning as well. And thoes prices were from 1999..

There is actually a service here that has a trailer with pressure washer, welder, flood lights, etc... They clean (supposedly) the carts and repair/replace the wheels and oil them.

I have seen them around for quite a few years. Would not be a bad business to do if you had the equipment and source for the different types of wheels as each store has different sizes, colors, etc...

Revisiting the shopping cart service, I recently saw the same group in my area doing the Winn Dixie carts and sparked my intrest. I have the contract to clean the Whole Food stores here in my area and they need their carts serviced ie cleaned, casters changed out, straps replaced like the OT guys were doing so I,m going to research the casters and I have everthing else to do the work.Any feed back?

You could also try it as an up-sale. You know your estimating their store front and you offer to include disinfecting their shopping carts. People now a-days are so in-tuned about germs that every and I mean EVERY Grocery store in southern California has disinfecting wipes. So you can see the need for power washing carts can be. I came from the grocery bushiness. My brother and sister are both high managers in the grocery business. But more importantly I see the customers faces when they see a dirty cart. In short, give it a shot and ask if they would like their carts cleaned as well, what do you have to loose?

I'm a germ freak also if the store doesn't have santi-wipes at the door I won't touch the carts. The link is to a one step cleaner disinfectant that would work great.
