I decided to get TV instead of monitors on my new Puter system so i decided to hook up the big screen at the house.

The funny thing is i use my smart phone 90% of the time.

I use a 26".

It doesn't matter how big it is, it's how you use it that counts!

At least thats what she said.(?)

Get a wireless keyboard, mouse and a lazy boy and you will be good to go..

Now Ron's neighbor will be able to see if he's surfing the net for porn..........lol.
My neighbors are 6 feet away on both sides.
I have to make sure the volume is turned down when my house windows are open and the computer is on :D

Hey Ron how are you connecting your tv to your computer. I just got a 42" plasma and connected it to my computer by S-VIDEO and the quality isn't too great. I've read on a forum that it normally isn't no matter what tv you have. How is the quality on yours?

Do like I did ... I bought a 150" commercial projector . And I hook My laptop to it ... I wrote it off this year as a sales tool.. But it works really well for my daughters friends to watch movies on and also at 150" I can just pop some popcorn and sit back and watch any movie ...I got some pics of it I will hunt them up..

Most, if not all, recent HDTV sets have at least one HDMI input. You'll want to use that when connecting it to a computer. If you computer doesn't have an HDMI output, don't worry, use the DVI port. HDMI uses the same signaling as DVI, the only difference is that HDMI also allows audio to be sent. Just find a DVI-to-HDMI cable and you'll be set. If you don't have a DVI port on your computer, then I suggest upgrading your video card. You do not want to use VGA as that is an analog connection and fixed-pixel displays like plasma and LCD don't seem to display analog signals too well (in my experience).

I took my plasma back and got an Samsung LCD. LCD's are much better for gaming and hooking up to your computer.

We got a 50" Plasma about a month and a half ago. We have the HDMI connection cables with HD programming from DirecTV. I think it looks great - Our house is prewired for surround, but we haven't put up any speakers yet.
The picture still looks really good during the daytime, even with all the light from our living room windows.

We also have a 52" TheatreWide in our upstairs "Theatre". It was going to be a game room, but nobody would volunteer to help us get a slate pool table up there.... hahaha:confused:

Dual core laptop to 52" HD via the RGB input is sweet. Text, icons, and gods gift to man all look plenty sharp and crisp. I of course firstly adjusted the screens color temp to warm and adjusted to THX standards via dvd.
Haven't looked at the HDMI connection cable yet that came with it and don't know what the laptop has for combo video/audio outputting.
