x- jet or down stream

Downstreamed for years. Except for roofs

I too carry an x jet at all times. There are certain applications I will it use for, it's usually only in times I need to get my chem on a surface a little stronger. I never say there is one way. Proper cleaning technique is what matters most.

Wouldn't proper cleaning technique include proper application of cleaners?

Just use a low pressure rinse tip, or crack your ball valve, or use adjustable wand, with your 25 or 40 tip and just don't turn wand so much that the chem comes out, to rinse. No need to go back and forth to truck. I DS through 200 feet of hose at 8gpm. It takes exactly 10 seconds for the water to go from applying chem to clear water or vice versa. I just change my tip about 10 seconds before I don't need chem or do need it. Average 2500-3000 sq ft take less than 5 gallon of HW mix.

Hey Doug, could tell what tips your using so the HW mix stops pulling? I'm new to DSing been using xjet m5 for a few years now. I'm running 8 gpm 200 ft of hose and my jrod has the following. 060, 0540, 1540, and 2540. Theses are all pulling soap making me walk back to trailer and turn the ball valve off at bypass. Im guessing I need different tips but not sure which to try. Thanks for any help with.

on my 8 GPM unit we use 0060 and 2560 for your Mix Application Tips. 0020 and 2520 for rinse tips to shut of your mix. I use a remote system and so I only use 0060 and 2560 for everything. I do have 3 banger that has 0060,2560 and the 2520 for when I need to give some stains a little encouragement.

For those with a 5gpm we use 0050,0010,2510, and 2530

Downstream. I don't like having that extra hose & bucket to carry around. For 4 gpm, soap low 2540, soap high 0040, rinse high 0010, rinse low 2510. This is also the order of application.

If running a 4gpm and high draw injector, you may need to step the rinse nozzles down to a number 6 or 7.

With 225' of hose and number 8 nozzles, my Super Suds Sucker still pulls soap.

I use 60 psi chemical pumps for roof cleaning-softwashing. https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=IzUQ4HJyyfI
An X-jet [ I have 2 models ] on rare occasions, when pressure washing and I can't get a strong enough SH mix up high. (No Videos)
Otherwise, for 98% of pressure washing, I downstream. This video may make you think "He's gonna draw lines" but my machine is set to about 1500psi and I am using a 5.6 gpm pump and a large orifice 0550 tip. I wish I had started the video from the beginning. This pool cage was from a home that sat empty and uncared for, for 7 years. It was black, black, black. I started the video after coating it with chlorine-downstream-and cleaning it with a 1540 tip, then, as you see, it was still bad. I recoated it with chlorine and switched to the near 0 tip and got it clean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJZ8cps1cQo
