The Cleaner

Vetran Washer 30 Years Plus
I am in the process of adding a landscaping rig on. I think it will be an easy add on to my business. I can contact the many satisfied residential customers i have over almost 15 years and the property managers we do work for and see how it goes? I fiqure the worst case senario is i got some kick ass equipment to cut my lawn with...:D :D

I dont do anything else but I have had a some PM's ask me if I do anything else. I had one say he would buy the equipment for us to do landscaping, just so he has a reliable landscape vendor. I just didnt want to get into it. Heck if I had a painting & a landscaping biz and could find the help to maintain it, I could make a killing.

Go for it and good luck, you'll be working night & day thou. Best of luck

Thats the problem, putting this thing together is easy and i think getting customers are pretty much built in. But getting good employees is the problem, i need someone to be able to do these accounts when i am out of town..

Nick,

Are you interested in landscape maintenance or landscape construction?

Landscape maintenance is a pretty easy market to get into. The secret in making money there is volume work. Your crew will start off with 2 people only (one mower and one trimer). They should have knowlege of sprinkler head replacements and how to set timers. When I say timers I mean all brands (RainBird, Toro, Hunter and etc). Average about 15 minutes per yard plus driving time between accounts and breaks/lunch. This formula should give you an idea of what is the norm as it relates to daily/account ratio.

Landscape construction - a whole different ball game!!

maintenance in the beginning, then i will see how it goes? Pricing down here is key, and there are plenty of lowballers in this service also.

I can't even begin to imagine how whored out lawn maintenance is in Florida.

Your right about that!! the one advantage i have over them, is i can set my price and go after the people who want real service. As i did when building up my pressure washing business. I dont need the income from landscaping to live on so i will do it slowly and with the customer base i already have i hope it will be easier than having to cold call..
