Dave has left us, Dave was a pioneer in this industry.

For some who think myself Scott or Grant or others have lead this industry make no mistakes Dave Olsen was there paving the way for us all.

Heat with his btu's or being one of the first reclaim guys around. Dave Olson will be remembered by our industry for years to come.

I declare Dave not the contractor of the month year or day. He is the contractor of the last decades.

I only wish we could have paid respects properly to dave.

Dave passed here a message from Peggy over on pwn

Hello,
This is Peggy Olson, Dave's wife. I deeply regret to inform this wonderful Forum that Dave passed away on December 23, 2011, from lung cancer.
Dave got many hours of enjoyment conversing with all of you on many different topics and threads. Thank you so much for your friendship with him!
God bless you all, and keep up the good work and great conversations!
Peggy Olson

Please let's all wish Peggy and family our memories and condolence.

Those who remember dave please share. Those who knew of him or would have liked to please post your thoughts.

Dave was most likely the most classy man I knew in this industry. I hope I can live up his industry accomplishments by the time the lord calls me.

I am sorry to hear the news.

He was a true leader in this industry and will be missed.

That is so sad. I looked up to Dave like many did. We exchanged many emails back in the day. He always helped me when I ran into propane issues because his trucks, and what Trucks they were, had propane set-ups. He had the most advanced, professional setups I ever seen in those two box trucks.

I had the honor to meet him and we talked for hours at Celeste and Rogers Roundtable about 6 yrs ago. Dave rose as high as an executive board member in the PWNA when he left in the mid 90's. He was a world of knowledge. A truly honest man. He told me things there that were deeply personal within this industry. If Celeste seen this thread I pretty much missed 90% of her RT because me and David just talked and talked. He was a passionate person who cared about others deeply.

I learned alot from him and looked up to him as many did. He will be deeply missed. Gone but never forgotten.

I am so sad. I tried to interview him a few months ago but he was too sick and hoping to do it at a later date.

Dave was such a nice man and someone I always looked forward to catching up with at the PWNA meetings of the '90s.

He will be missed.

Had the pleasure of meeeting Dave via phone and had a few conversations with him. I could immediately tell this was someone I wanted to learn more from. Thank you Dave for all your wisdom and advice. You will be missed by so many.

Ron, I was just thinking, perhaps we should discuss coming up with a "Dave Olson Award".

I think that a great resource of knowledge for the Pressure washing community just passed away. Not just knowledge on the technical side of things, but knowledge on humanity. He was a great man, and a credit to our industry.

I got to talk to him a couple times and he was not only a great person but friendly and very intelligent.

He would spend the time to explain things to you and made sure that you understood what he was talking about.

He will be missed.

Here is the most recent post from Peggy Olson from Power Wash Network BBS

Thank you all so much!

Dave really enjoyed the chats and meeting, via forums, phone, and in person, many members. He loved sharing his knowledge and experiences, and learned so much from all of you, as well! His Power washing business was his love, along with his antique tractors! "Do what you love, and love what you do" could certainly describe Dave!

Thank you for your thoughtful responses and your prayers. They are very much appreciated!

God bless you all,

Peggy Olson

There are some more pics on TGS from the North Carolina Rountable where many of us met Dave. This man was always true to his word.. Same on the net as he was on the phone or in person..and in this industry we should never forget guys like Dave.. They were true pioneers. I'll do what I can for his family to know that he has reached so many people in this industry in a positive way.

One of the things that can be done is send an email to his website address to his wife what Dave meant to you. i love one of those pics at the NC Roundtable because the things Dave and I talked about still mean alot to me...
Still can't believe he passed away right before Christmas.. These things will always be sad and shocking..

His wife's email says it all how much Dave liked corresponding with us.. As we did him.. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Hello John!

Oh, my, how can I thank you for all your kind thoughts and words! I know Dave enjoyed talking with you, too! Meeting and chatting with you and other Forum folks was the icing on the cake of his business! THIS is where he felt he did the most good, and took great delight in it! THANK YOU for being a friend, John!

I am now in the sad process of closing down Tidy Powerwash. It is more than I can handle, I'm afraid.

And thanks again for being Dave's friend and for your very kind words! They mean a LOT to me!
