Hey guys

is anyone a member of BOMA? has it been worth the $800 to join? I can see the benefits in having direct access to the key players in the commercial property management sector... but I have a hesitance in joining an organization that may already have it's cliques and be difficult to break in to.

Ok, I'm going to answer my own question - I'll call them and ask a few questions... still like to hear about anyone's experiences though!

any feedback on this or other organizations and how they have benefited you?

I need to get face to face time with key players and decision-makers... it's too easy to get palmed off over the phone - I cold called the corporate office of a PM company last week, got some good info from assistant PM and waiting to hear back on proposal I submitted.

anyway, off topic... any recommendations of groups or orgs that can provide beneficial networking opportunities?

thanks:)

We speak at the local meetings, its not cheap.

the dinners meetings are 250 per person.

the lunch meetings are 75

The floor time can be as high as 1000

Steve,

I'm curious to know if you made any progress in this area and if so, the details.

Steve

Hey Steve

No progress yet... to be honest, I've not called them yet - slipped down my list of priorities, I'm looking at opportunities for a quicker return on my efforts at the moment. I have created a list of organizations that may benefit me if I was a member - a tip (if you didn't know already) many organizations have a member directory on their website which give you an instant directory for potential customers or just to find out about the value of the organization.

The PWNC is getting involved with BOMA - We have a full page ad coming out in the directory that all BOMA members receive. It should be a good boost for the PWNC site traffic as well as our members. I feel sure that property & building management will be quite interested in finding quality contractors for their needs

Now here's an organization that appears to have some cohesion and a strong direction - it's great to hear progress towards a true 'many representing the few' group!!

Ron, do you think that as a member of BOMA you have to have more than one truck on the road to get a good Return on Investment - or can the 'small guy' benefit from the membership?

bump.

Do i need to answer this question now, or did you answer it for yourself?

Is this a national publication or something locally. I have spoken with our local BOMA before I even noticed this thread but this could be really interesting
