Concrete trucks?

Any of you guys clean concrete trucks?

I've got a large condenser that usually stays dry because it usually has a lot of concrete dust in it.

Water truck went by and sprayed it.

Now it's a big concrete block (exaggeration).

But it does have concrete chunks in it.

I know there are products out there that dissolve that stuff, but it's usually made for painted truck surfaces.

Is there anything to cut the concrete without harming the aluminum fins?

Thanks.

Good luck. Typically muriatic acid is what is used on cement mixers. I do have a contact that might have something that works. Sometimes a phosphoric acid will work and react too aggressively with aluminum.

I saw this stuff at the World of Concrete show. http://speedycleanusa.com/concrete/

I
found it in the monthly magazine I get and lo and behold they are right here in Las Vegas. I've got a call in to them to see how it will work on aluminum. That's my main concern. I can't wait for something to ship - We've got to do the job early AM Friday.

I do the same test on the different mixes our redimix trucks use. It takes our fleet chems about 2hrs to do the job on a concrete core sample. Those 2hr will also rough up some aluminum. We've cleaned the coils on the rear of cement trucks with muriatic acid and they have come out just fine. Speedy Clean looks shady to me when they say it is acidic...but doesn't contain acid...but they compare their product to citrus, and I believe that is used in aluminum brighteners.
Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

I will send you a pm Tony.

Tony,
You are on the right track. That product will eat the Portland out of the cement. I am not sure how it will react with the aluminum. Stay away from the muratic, not good at all for aluminum.

Don't use muriatic on aluminum!

Chris, I can't respond to PM's. There's something wrong with my account. I found out the construction and weld is only copper and aluminum. So I'm definitely going to try the Concrete Dissolver because it's local and I can pick it up today even if I have to pay double.

Any other suggestions to try that I can get my hands on today? I'm going to videotape the results.

Great job Tony!
