Mobile Car lot washing using DI water, few questions!

Hey guys! Up here in MI and have been at this mobile PWing thing for a few years now and we just got our DI system from culligan and are ready to go pound out some work but before we do i have a few questions. We currently have 1 guy spraying and 2 drying, this leaves the cars pretty decent (dealership acceptable i should say) but with the addition of the DI, i have seen a few on here only using 2 guys(1 spray, 1 dry). My question is, at the pace we move to be profitable, what areas do you focus on drying when its just a single guy to keep pace? We average 60-70 cars/ hour and have a total of 13 lots per week were doing without DI water. Im just trying to get as efficient as possible.

Also, Most of the lots we do are around 100-125 cars. We have 2 lots that are over 250-300 cars. We are using a 300 gallon water tank and are not actively filling it as we wash. With the DI, we will only be able to fill the tank cause of the restrictor needed at a pace of about 5GPM, which would put about an hour of downtime for fill-ups. My question is, is it worth the time to run a fill hose while we do these lots especially with the hassle of having to move the truck around also or should we actively fill only at the bigger lots? We use a 200ft spray hose fyi. Thanks for any and all input!!!!

Usually with the DI tanks there will not be any water spots so you don't need to dry them.

Bryan is the expert on this sort of thing, he probably washes more cars than most here or that I know of.

One guy sprays soap, 2 guys follow up with DI/RO. It takes twice as long to rinse soap off as it does to apply. No drying needed. Put your machines on low idle, with 30 to 40 degree fan nozzles and that will save on water.

I think that every area requires a little bit different technique. I cover an area of about 30 miles. I wash all of my lots at least twice per week and some 3 times per week. Some lots seem to always be dirty and we need to chamois the whole car because the dirt in the air lands on the water droplets. Other lots we can get away with just spraying and they always look great. To be safe though I always run at least 2 chamoiers per sprayer. When I was running DI I would try to always keep my tanks full so I would fill while I was spraying. This allowed me to keep running with out the down time. I ran roughly 300 ft of pressure washing hose and another 300ft of water hose. Last summer though I switched things up and bought my self an industrial 11000 gpd RO Unit and man that thing is awesome. I will never use DI again. My tds is always at 0. I have to run to my shop once a day to refill my tanks but it is still worth it. As far as how many cars I do per hour I average right around 80 cars per hour per sprayer but that also includes set up, pack up and drive time. In the summer months we currently wash a little over 2000 cars per day with 3 sprayers 6 dryers and two trucks.
