NASTY! Good luck with that Spencer. Have you ever noticed the blacktop? we all seem to check out the concrete but I was checking out the blacktop at the mall one day and noticed that it is all over their too. Also noticed at red lights that it is all over the ground as well. I don't understand why people can't find a way to get the gum to the trash. I wonder if they would like all that on their walkways and driveways at home. Not that I havent found it their too. Just not 80,000 pieces.

Here is an invention idea:

CNC (computer numerical control) steam generated gum remover.
A scanner enters the coordinates of each piece of gum and the wand moves and removes it while you just check it from time to time.

And when your all done burning that old gum, there will be shadows from the dye in the gum, it will look like it's still there. If it's after hours and im sure you will clean at nite, put down some strong love and leave it, it will remove the shadows...

I love to see people spitting out there gum on the sidewalks. I make sure I go stepping on it to mush it in the ground(J/K) Gum on walkways = $$$$ in our pockets. I have made over a $2/sq foot in front of some stores in Manhattan that had 5 times the amount of what is posted above. Back breaking work but my two guys see more money in there pocket also do to it taking longer to Clean. One day I will have to post some pictures of these sidewalks so some here can be shocked into retirement

Aww Man Thats fun.... Its Money.. Right. Only bad thing I see it's gonna be time consuming. And Very expensive on fuel... Other than that make that money ...

It may be worth getting one of those gum buster steam machines to remove the gum first. Save all that fuel, then degreese the area and steam it with your P/W..?

nick, have you used/do you use the gum buster machines when you come across heavy gum deposits?

Have you found chlorine to make a significant difference in reducing/removing presence of gum shadows?

recently I applied chlorine to gum shadows post-washing and noticed a big improvement.
