Going Residential

I have spent the last 4 years doing nothing but commercial flatwork. Lately it seems that every other day i'm getting asked about doing residential stuff. Fences, decks, siding, just basic stuff. But I have no idea of the equipment I need. As far as staining fences and decks, what is the best sprayer to use? What is needed to wash siding with low pressure etc...And then there is the chemical questions. So any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Danny as far as decks are concerned I have had first had experience with a deckster from sunbrite, and they are amazing you can strip, brighten, and stain all with the one unit, and it cuts your time but more than half than using a pump up or brush,

As far as low pressure cleaning goes, Get an XJet or downstreamer and use your tips to regulate pressure.

Danny, give me a call and I can help you out, just would be a whole lot of typing here. hahahahaha

Xjet, deckster, and ds, are definitely what you need. We use the deckster and ready seal. You cannot screw up ready seal.

You know what the best thing about residential is?.......................You get paid when your done........not 30 to 60 days later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One other thing.... Residential customers understand Value and will pay your price, even if the other guy is a fourth of your price.

I like dealing with residential customers.... I enjoy the sale of the job....They call with what they want, you stop by, look at the job, talk to them, get on common ground, find out as much as you can to get a feel of what they are expecting money wise and then price the job....
Do good work, be professional, and they send their friends to you. Alot of them even ask for extra business cards.
And it never hurts to ask for referrals!!!

Just like selling cars

I'm doing rental house condensers now for a PM.

I don't know how you guys do it. I had two renters today that asked me to knock on the door to let them know when I'm starting and I couldn't even concentrate on what they were saying thinking about all the time I'm losing standing around talking.

Danny, the info that you need is in your back yard... lol
