I have an x-jet. I put it on the end of my lance, put the other end in the chemicals, fire up my machine turn on the in-line valve and it doesn't draw any chemical. Any suggestions as to what i might be doing wrong!

I have a building to clean, the siding is a stained wood. What should I use to clean it but not fade or ruin the color? I have a 4 gpm/3700psi machine. Thank you in advance for your help.
