How many of you guys charge your marine batteries on your rigs using the charging system on your vehicle? I use a deep cycle marine battery for my roof pump but have been told to only use a trickle charger to charge it or risk shortening the life of the battery.

This pump is 6 GPM @ 3000 PSI. Does anyone know what brand it might be. Why is it that this pump will not gravity feed but has to be hooked to a pressurized water source to pump. I would like to be able to use this pump where the water source is a poly tank. Any suggestions? Thanks
