I’ve replaced gutters on my home a couple of times, so here’s what I’ve learned. For durability and low maintenance, aluminum is usually the best balance. It resists rust, is relatively lightweight, and can last 20+ years if installed properly. Steel is very strong but can rust over time unless it’s coated, and vinyl is cheap and easy to install but can warp or crack in extreme temperatures.

If you’re looking for professional help, I recently had a gutter replacement Logan service handle some sections, and it was done efficiently with proper slope and sealing. If you’re comfortable with ladders and precise measurements, DIY is possible, but professional installation ensures proper downspout placement and prevents leaks. Expect costs roughly five to ten dollars per foot installed for aluminum. Vinyl is a bit less, and steel a bit more.

Also, don’t forget gutter guards, as they reduce cleaning frequency significantly. Personally, I went with seamless aluminum and have been leak-free for years.
