Has anyone, (in the drought areas) had any problems with turning down work because of it.I have a customer that needs her deck cleaned. I looked on the NJ drought site and not sure on the limits of the p/w whan it comes to surfaces.

From what I understand we are exempt from restrictions as we need water to earn our living.

Best to try and get a letter from the local, regional or national water bureau stating that.

Not sure if it has ever been done but that is what I would try for.

here in California there has been talk about less water for summer but so far no warnings to cut back.

You need to sale the customer your allowed to use water and that they are not penelized for it.

In Pa, you are absolutely allowed (as a professional) to use the water especially if it is to prepare a surface that will be sealed (deck).

So far no drought related problems here...........if it continues to get worse, I'm sure we'll be noticeably affected.

I have had issues at homes that have well water..........people want you to bring your own water, which I fill my tank at the local water company.

ron p

right now the only thing your not allowed to clean is cement.[flatwork]
Would'nt that suck JON?
now thats killing the rest of the work because it crowd's the rest of the PW biz.

Ron P. I thought they could not restrict any pressure washing business from earning a living, if I lived there I would starve as that is the only thing I do, flat work.

My other post about permits, is that something that can be done with any of you guys, do they issue letters saying you may draw water as it is the primary thing needed to do your jobs?

What about fleet washers are or will they be restricted also?

Mike I can see where well water would become a problem since they would be hard pressed to have enough as it is.
